I have Tourettes, ADD, and OCD, and I almost died due to rapid onset heart failure in 2012; i got some pretty kick ass scars from the surgery. So watch me hit things with sticks every now and then I take my shirt off so that's an added bonus if you subscribe to my channel.
Just Jamming With My New Snare

This took forever to get uploaded. I feel bad not uploading this sooner; I blame it on my laziness, OCD and lack of patience. I didn’t upload this sooner because I had trouble getting the files on my computer; so I quickly put this together on my phone. It’s no where near the editing quality I wanted and was going for; and there’s about another hour of videos I didn’t add, that documented this ...

This video is a way too late and I'm sorry for that. I had some comments and questions in some of my previous videos and I wanted to hopefully address them in this video.

I have a mechanical mitral valve and waiting to have my aortic valve done so I’ll have 2 mechanical valves I also have Atrial fibrillation so I feel your ‘pain’ however like you I’m reassured at least I’m alive 😬👍
@@catherinecaldwell3150 Wow 2 valves replaced 😮, I hope all goes well with the aortic surgery ❤️. It has got to feel sooo much after the recovery is done. I know after my rehab I felt amazing.
I make videos for youtube. Which microphone should I use to avoid mechanical heart valve sound? or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.
@@erol993 That’s tricky cause mine comes through a lot. I would suggest a dynamic mic, like a shure SM7B, or Electro Boice RE-20; plus when editing audio you can always try a noise gate or plugin like the Waves Clarity VX.
@ thank you👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I think it’d be annoying until you realise that as long as that sound is going on you’re alive.
Wow,jist realized you are in Syracuse too,what a coincidence😮!!! Go SU 🍊
Wow,you are such an inspiration to me,you have been through alot!!! I had aortic valve replacement 4 weeks ago and am struggling.Keep getting better and living a long healthy life! ❤
@@innerpeaceandselflove It seems like a long road at first but once you start improving it begins to snow ball. Cardiac rehab helped me a lot. Keep celebrating little victories don’t lose hope! I wish you a fast and successful recovery!
Annoying but lifesaving
Sounds like a watch
Hey frnd after 6 years my avr sound is too low to hear..
Clicking sound is too low it is risky or not
I had my done late 2019 and its still ticking 😊
Its too louder or not .. My avr sound is too low after 6 year
How do you get over the sound? I have bad anxiety and panic attacks. I’m probably getting this done before end of month and freaking out. You look young too. I just turned 40.
To be honest it took me a couple months to get used to the sound. The first couple weeks drove me crazy, but now after a couple years I kind of like it. I’m 33 now, I was 31 when I had the surgery. I was nervous too, but just said my prayers and made peace with whatever happens. But so much went on after as I described in another video. Don’t watch that one if you’re already nervous lol 😂. Hope yours goes well!!! ❤️
@@slimhaines2 I guess Xanax and positive thinking will be needed !
Just found ur channel man, hope ur doing good
Yo that’s sick 🔥
AVR or MVR?

I got my mechanical on-x aortic valve 3 months ago….i just hate the ticking in my ears…it’s weird sometimes I hear it in my ears and sometimes I don’t….i think I’m slowly getting used to it……hopefully
I feel ya, it took me awhile to get used to it. But after a while you just learn to deal with it, it becomes a part of you. I hope your recovery is going well.
My dad has had the valve for years. You will get used to it! I have had noise in my ears since childhood, it sounds as an old noisy electric light. I am used to it and ignore it most of the time but sometimes I wish it would be gone, especially at night.
Which tablet do you take?
My Warfarin? I alternate my doses 8.5mg for 3 days a week and 9mg for the other 4.

thank u so much, we wanted to know!!! Id go insane omg
This is fascinating. the sound of peak human innovation, a device to save lives. Love to hear it
Ew
Thanks man. Needing this one. Much luck and health to you.
Getting mine one week from today. July 11, 2023. So anxious. 😩
It is nerve racking. I was having a hard time the night before. I just trusted the doctors, said a prayer, and was prepared to accept whatever came afterwards. Hang in there and good luck! Once everything is over with and you recover, you feel almost super human; I able to run again and that’s such a great feeling! ❤️❤️
I had my Aortic valve replaced and a triple bypass in July last year, 2023, aged 53,nearly 4 weeks later I had a heart attack which nearly killed me. I had to have a balloon fitted. I remember everything but arriving at hospital I was rushed straight to the OR at 10 at night. I do remember the surgeon thanking everyone for their hard work and that they'd "done it" that's how close it was.
@@Mountianlions69 But what went wrong?
Everything worked? Are you still around?
Ohhh my Allah Almighty.....save me ....i have an open heart surgery for aortic stenosis valve replacement after this Eid ul Fitar ......this sounds so sick...🥺🇵🇰🤕😥
😅😅😅😅😅
Why do I recognize your voice?
Why your shirt no equipped why you floor Tom sound like snare drum?
The floor tom sounds like a floor tom to me. Not sure what you mean. And I don’t like wearing shirts.
Lol ok for some reason the floor Tom sounded like the snare to me, probably audio distortion
By the Grace of God your still here my brother I have Type2 Diabetes I have a bad heart too .The Lord is the good physician please let's trust The Lord Jesus Christ for healing.John 3.16 Psalms 23.
I have you notice any side effects from your mechanical valve my doctor was telling me some of the side effects and that kind of scared me away from it by the way I don't have a date for my surgery the anxiety the unknown got me freaking out
No side effects really. The ticking took a while to get used to, at first I couldn’t get sleep. The surgery left many marks though, especially from the complications I faced. But it’s best to go through with it before it’s too late. The warfarin isn’t even that bad.
What effects did he tell you about?
"Valve"?
After my volue replacement I was worried about this sound but after some weeks I feel normal
Lets go!!!!!!! 🔥🤙💪
Always stay blessed! I want to ask one question, 11 years back my sister went through open heart surgery at the age of 31 in which her valve was repaired. Again she, at the age of 42 , gone through a heart surgery. This time valve was replaced with metal valve. After 25 days of surgery she is not able to sleep. She cannot lie down straight on the bed if try feels suffocated So she generally sleeps by sitting only is it normal will be ok after sometime Please answer I m too worried🙏🙏🙏
Always ask a cardiologist. I never experienced that. In the beginning it was hard to sleep but it got easier as the days went by. I didn’t feel like suffocating, but the ticking at first really bugged me, and my shoulders hurt when I woke up after sleeping on my side. I would definitely talk to a cardiologist and surgeon and see what is going on. Hope she gets better ❤️
I had and sometimes still have that issue.. I do feel more relief while sleeping in a sitting position.. again, talk to your dr. From what I understand, there’s more pressure added to your chest when lying down, especially lauding down on your left side. Apparently, it pushes your heart closer to the chest and can make the thumping louder or uncomfortable
@@slimhaines2 Thank u so much for your response ❤❤❤
My father went through the same process, and had same symptoms afterwards. Literally the same. He passed away one month after the surgery due lung failure
How is she now
Hey, that's actually really cool! Good thing our brains are good at filtering sounds.
Keep an EYE on your ASCENDING AORTA ! Side effects of valve surgery is AROTA becoming ENLARGED . Had mine done and afterwards ascending aorta became enlarged and with blood pressure control and EXCERCISE it's been maintaining 4.4 do alot of walking and walking uphill till out of breath , am 74 yrs old and didn't have problem till 68 yr. Old and I Don't smoke or drink ! I quit at age 33 if didn't quit wouldn't be making this comment now ! Your young and you'll be doing good ! Good Luck !
Let me guess: Mall of Asia in Manila?
Oh my gosh.... I don't know you, but I came up on your video and watched it for some reason. I am so sorry that you had to go through all of this! All of these things are awful on their own, but to have them together, is nearly unimaginable. You are a strong guy. It's ok to feel off and traumatized after things like this. Give yourself time to heal physically and mentally
Thanks ❤️ I appreciate the encouragement..
Jan 2023 and I read elsewhere what a scary situation you were in. I hope and pray you are recovering and your heart is working well. All the best in the future !!!💞💖
Thank you ❤️!
And don't forget, you and I have to (fake) fight!
Oh we’ll fight. But there will be nothing “fake” about it.
@@slimhaines2 Begun the great battle of our time.

Got mine 8and a half years ago and you are right was told by my cardiologist if you don't hear it your dead kindasums it up
Are you living now
@@naturalbeauty2231 yes of course
Cute
I didnt hear a thing. I am a 4x CABG and tissue mitral valve. It is a rough surgery to go thru, I dont know if i would do it again. Unfortunately sooner or later if i am alive the mitral valve will wear out and i will have to.
I had my mechanical heart valve installed for aortic valve , in 2019 , im on coumadin for life
Aside from Coumadin, what else to you take
I had the same in 2015. Been taking Coumadin for 39 years for atrial fibrillation.
Had my mechanical mitral valve put in in 2007. My interpretation of the sound when I first heard the clicking was that of tapping two nickels together. 15 years later, after inflation, it sounds like two quarters tapping together. Naaa, I can barely hear it now. However, when I am at a doctors office or a blood lab, the professionally trained health workers can hear me clicking 10 feet away. Really! The only time I hear it now is at night in bed with my head on the pillow and my mouth open to let the sound escape. At least I'm still clicking away.
😆 I want to steal that joke. I got used to the ticking now, but I still hear it from time to time. My fiancé hears it more than me, especially when I drink 🍹.
Hope your recovery is going well. Had my surgery on September 23rd and have finally started my transition into being more active.. God damn that ticking is annoying. Cant imagine getting used to it. Do you experience and chest pounding from time to time? The ticking is manageable, the pounding after excursion or anxiousness is a mofo to try and ignore
At first I had the chest pounding, the ticking at first really bothered me, I couldn’t sleep. But now with continued exercise I don’t have the pounding anymore, and I got used to the ticking.
@@slimhaines2 oddly enough.. I’ve been in the gym recently and have done a lot of walking and can say the same happened to me too. I guess those issues calm after you become more active and get in better shape. Thank you for your response. To many blessings and a continued recovery 🙏🏽
I'm getting my aortic valve replaced but we haven't determined what type of valve, biological or mechanical! I think I'd like that reassuring sound of a mechanical valve. Reminds me of my dad's mechanical valve way back in 1974😳 it was called a Star Valve after the guy who designed it. It was pretty loud but it meant that my 46 yr old dad was alive and that's all that mattered.
Yeah it’s good to know it’s working lol. My surgeries had a lot of complications, I went with the mechanical valve because it’s supposed to last for life. Being on warfarin is a pain in the ass, but at least I wont have any more surgeries🤞🏻. Hope this helps ❤️
Just had my surgery at the end of september.. Mechanicals are designed to last a lifetime, biological must be replaced after a certain number of years.. Usually around 10.
@@slimhaines2 Yep i would go with mechanical and eliminate hopefully another surgery and deal with the blood thinners.
@@artesuaveangelo Yes but the mechanical valves require medications every single day. The natural valves do not.
@@jonjones6749 The mechanical valves require daily medication every single day. Natural valves do not.
I got my valve eleven days ago, everyone else can hear my valve but not me. I guess my hearing is shot🤣
Same, I'm 5 weeks out of my heart surgery and the only time i hear it is my heart is elevated above 100, When i go to bed i can't hear it.
Hi Josh, I have had a mechanical valve for a few years now and no longer hear mine.. Happy ticking ❤
Same condition bro it is Risky or not tell me
