Loved this video, the explanations and examples. Great work
Thank you for this 🙏🏾
Great video... I have a question, if I'm 4:1 on the face and background is 2:1 (ex. key f5.6, fill f2.8, and background f4.0), what should camera exposure be set to if I'm shooting towards the shadow/fill side of the face? 2.8 or 5.6 (key)? I know it's also a creative choice, but???? Thanks
what a helpful video
i am subscriber number 700

@luc_ung I'm teaching a class next month. It will be in rotation. I've honestly never seen a tutorial that encompassed lighting and more in one clip. And I've actually went to film school in LA and watched tutorials daily as a hobby. You, my good man, did a phenomenal job and I truly appreciate you for your work. And I'm looking forward to more clips.
I went to film school and this video was more informative than what I learned there. Thank you for making this.
I'm so glad to hear it was informative! Please consider sharing it with any of your fellow filmmakers!
This is incredible, so useful and interesting regarding lighting.
Thank you so much!
I’m starting to direct music videos and I’ve been craving a video like this for years. Thank you!

This was fantastic. Like really really good information. I knew all of this information before how but how it was presented was a game changer. Can you make one on shot composition and another on shot sequences?
Thank you for your kind words! Yes, I will start working on a shot composition video soon! In the meantime, please consider sharing this video to any of your fellow filmmakers that might find it helpful!
Thanks so much for sharing this knowledge

Great video, looking forward for new videos like this! Camera movement maybe?
Absolutely! There's a lot of demand on the psychology behind camera angle/movement/lens choice etc. So that probably will be the next video!

Thanks. An excellent video and great explanation. I have been shooting stills for many years, but new to videography. I thought I already had a pretty good understanding, learning slowly over many years. But this is concentrated excellence, well explained. So good I liked and subscribed. Wish I'd seen explanations a clear as this when first learning snd trying to up my lighting game.

I'm so glad you feel this way! Totally the same principles. The only difference is how many frame a second you capture! (: If you feel like it, please consider sharing it with your friends and fellow photographers!
I wanna thank you for this excellent video. Lighting has always messed me up. Your simple explanation was like taking all of us back to lighting kindergarten. Just subscribed.

Can you talk about the psychology behind camera angles? Color psychology, both RGB and color temperature? Also, talking about characteristics of using spotlights adapters and different diffusion materials?
I was actually thinking of making another video on the psychology of camera angles. Perhaps a real-time analysis of what conscious and subconscious emotions the filmmakers can invite in their audience at each moment. Stay tuned!
This is probably the best explained video for lighting I've seen on youtube!!! Thank you so much for making it. It combines and summarizes so much valuable information.
Thank you so much for your feedback! Please consider sharing it with your fellow filmmakers, it would help a ton!
