If going with this genre at the time Ichigo 100% was running 2002 to 2006 and I much preferred that series. Suzuka was good but frustrating, yet different with the ending, I liked how different the ending was, as for Kimi no Iru Machi😮‍💨. I do not forgive that series. I did not hate that one, but I did at the same time. The whole childhood friend sequence, the way it was handled and such. I thought he would be better off with the Honoka clone's sister🤣. But actually liked the Suzuka clone best.

I re-read the manga as I recently joined the 30yo club, and wanted to see how my view of the manga (may have) changed. Here are my key points (character analysis are mostly my subjective opinion / interpretation) Arcs: For me the Rom-com between Haruto and Yuzuki were the best part of the manga, along the first arc. We can argue about Asuka's unfair treatment, but Yuzuki has way more chemistry than Haruto (Also more fleshed out imo). I wish the last Arc was not a LDR but rather Haruto maturing in Society. The Kazama Arc was not as bad, but it also felt like drama for the sake of breaking up the couple (the Suzuka formula if I should say so). Kazama Kyosuke: Definitely the arc I wanted to re-read more carefully as this was the pivotal moment of the romcom. Kazama, knowing he only had one year left to live with a very low success rate, had pretty much "given up" in life (who would truly be happy knowing you have a terminal illness), and wanted to use his remaining time doing things he loves and spend time with the person he loves (i.e. Suzuki). He thought doing so will make him not have regret for the rest of his life... until he met Haruto, the only friend that genuinely treat him for who he is despite knowing he is terminally ill. His challenge over Suzuki was silly, but it made it interesting to live for a tomorrow. The nail of his coffin was him seeing Suzuki being extremely happy when talking about Haruto and Hiroshima (this was implied when Kazama said to Haruto that they were being cheerful talking about him, though Haruto did not truly understand the meaning behind it). Kazama realized that even though Yuzuki became his his gf-by-obligation, he could not fulfil her heart, he decides to gamble his chance in order to pursue a brighter future. We know how it ended, but I think he at least lived a life without any regret. Mishima Asuka: I think it was predictable that Asuka and Haruto would not be the end-game couple, it was not a matter of if they will break-up... only when. I agree with the video, Asuka is really depicted as an awesome character... and I think overall it was the issue with the character (many explanation in the next paragraph might contrast her relationship with Haruto compared to Yuzuki). I think Asuka was a (too) safe partner for Haruto, but as Rin said, she is truly not much different from Akari in terms of compatibility. I think more chapters of their interactions before entering the relationship could have helped understanding their chemistry. What's worst being that the ship was sailing the chapter after Yuzuki and Haruto broke up (talk about being a rebound). Aside from some jealousy between Asuka and the Ebas, I think the issue for Asuka's relationship with Haruto is that it truthfully is not too different from besties hanging out, whether they remained besties or are in a relationship, I really don't think their lifestyle would have changed much (aside from.. being naughty huhu). But overall, I think Asuka has proven to have shown the greatest maturity in terms of the cast in how she handled her friendship with Haruto post-break up. She was truly (and sadly) a rebound stepping stone for the sake of the drama plot. Eba Yuzuki: The FMC, the one many either love or hate. Yuzuki is genuinely a person at heart that tries hard to do things that she believes are the "right and only" way... but ends up causing more trouble for her friends (it is really funny to actually re-read it understanding the context of those characters being teenagers / early uni students). Her awkward relationship with her father was more or less the root of all decisions she made leading to the series of drama. Yuzuki breaking up with Haruto to go with Kazama was clearly due to pity (I don't think this was the right way to do it, but hey she is a teenager, and my first sentence summarises why she did it so) and had Kazama been normal, she would have not dated him to begin with. Kazama lead Yuzuki to bottle up an accumulation of negative emotions, including dumping Haruto with no warnings, forgetting about Hiroshima and friends, and seeing herself as being the cause of Kazama's death (she would think she should have either stopped him from being operated, or pushed him to do the operation sooner to have higher chances). But most importantly, I think she realized that the one person she ended up hurting the most in this mess was Haruto, the person that she genuinely is in love with (any signs of genuine happiness expressed by Yuzuki in Tokyo arc is always somewhat related to Haruto). Her breakup pre-college was really because she does not know how to forgive herself and move forward from the mess that she thinks she created. Her selflessness does really contrast with her selfish decision to confess her love to Haruto, leading him to breakup with Asuka. The Romcom Arc is a reminder of why Yuzuki is a better partner for Haruto compared to Asuka (this is mostly coming from my view of how healthy couples are in a relationship). I think Yuzuki is a character that challenges Haruto's beliefs in many ways (how to tackle situation or interact with people). Yuzuki has indirectly been helping Haruto to emotionally elevate himself or get it together. If Asuka and Haruto represent a sail that float smoothly, Yuzuki and Haruto are a Roller Coaster that is not afraid of going left and right. Their relationship is similar to the Yin-Yang, they are different but represent a Harmony together. Kirishima Haruto: I think the best thing about this manga was to show the growth of his character from High School to Societal life. He made countless mistakes during his youth but his remediable quality has always been to try his hardest to do good for others, especially those he views as friends and especially Yuzuki.... which is ironic because his great pivotal point was when that quality of his got shattered with an incredible poor and disrespectful breakup... a breakup he had to face consequences to (short term loss of friends and support) and also one that keeps getting criticized by the characters over the series of Kouji's work (Hitman, Half and Half etc). Whether the audience likes or hates Haruto's guts does not truly matter, as despite this shortfall, Haruto and Asuka still decided to remain friends afterwards. (Pretty much the same reason I dropped Cafe Goddess Terrace, I do not understand how his quality and traits are satisfactory enough to turn him into a Harem Protagonist, could be just me being jealous lol). I don't think many things need to be said about him because his thoughts are usually visible by the readers as he is the MC. The most important thing Haruto could teach the story is that with perseverance, hard work and with the right intention, you can accomplish anything. Overall, KNIM has been a great rollercoaster of emotions. I used to put Suzuka as the pinnacle of Sea Kouji's work but now that I have re-read both shows... I would say my sentimental attachment for KNIM has now grown stronger. Side note, I would prefer Sea Kouji to now focus more on characters interactions and tone down fan services like Rinko Days...

Hey J, fellow indie author here. What was your experience with having to work with start up publishers?

There's always a track like this in every Xenoblade game. The first game has 'Engage the Enemy'. This one has 'Counterattack'. And the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has 'The Weight of Life'. Any time you hear these songs in their respective game, it's always during a big pivotal moment. If you get a chance, I highly recommend playing all three games (they are very long and I would recommend taking it slow, but it's worth it). They are fantastic, and the way they utilize the music in the cutscenes is so well done that if you were just told how they use the music without playing the games, you would probably think we were insane.

Just to put this in context. THIS is the normal boss theme of the game. Not the final boss. Not the superboss theme. Not the Unique Monster theme. Not the major boss theme (though there are two other variations of this theme that you hear during major encounters). This is the normal boss theme. You hear this theme potentially over a dozen times throughout the game, depending on how much you do. And every time you hear it, it's always amazing.

I don't think hardware is limiting the 3ds ost. Like if Id purpose was made for the switch it would be exactly the same.

There is only 1 thing Im hating on Fuuka (and Domestic Girlfriend). There is no print release in english or german. Both are so great and I want them in my bookshelf. I even thinking about buying the japanese ones, only to got them in the shelf...

There are many many MANY great RD themes, Eternal Bond is one of them, but I personally think Dawn Awakens, A Grasping Truth, Unending Task, Bearer of Hope, Origin's End, Wisom of Ages are better

I do think Xenoblade 3 is the strongest one gameplay-wise and story-wise it was quita significant for me

I own all three 3ds titles and recently decided to go back to them after previously clocking in hundreds of hours per game. They are so fantastic and the music in each game ranks as some of my all-time favorites!

"Id Purpose" is a journey, "Twilight of the gods" is an Epic of great Porportions, but "The End of All"... That song is the Finale. If I was a boss in Fire Emblem it would be my boss theme. That song gives me chills, goosebumps, etc, the whole Nine-Yards.

Once you start playing the series you can't stop.

My favorite Radiant Dawn piece is "Bearer of Hope" although I also love "Ascent". For other FE games, I'd say give "What Lies At the End" from Shadows of Valentia a listen, as well as "Desire Below (Flow)" from Fates.

Counterattack is great, but Mechanical Rhythm is insane.

I'm not a native english speaker and my country's language isn't english, however I've decided to write an english isekai fantasy novel (just world building, fleshing out characters, writing the plot etc.) and I was planning on publishing it on book publishing platforms like Wattpad and other platforms. But if I was to publish it in a book form, what do you think I should? Or do you have any good book publishing platforms you can offer?

Literally most of the Xenoblade ost is the best of it haha. There are so many good ones it’s really hard to single out an ultimate best. Xenoblade X, a “spin-off” for the Wii U has a more unique soundtrack to the rest of the main series since it was composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, the composer for AOT. Not everyone’s type of music but you should deff give them a shot. As for the main series, in Xc1-Obstacle in our path, Engage the Enemy, You will Know our names and Mechanical Rhythm are all great energetic non spoilery themes that you should listen to. Xc2-Battle in the Skies above, Incoming, Crossing Swords and You will Recall our Names are the only non spoiler themes I can think of. Xc3 has a lot -Carrying the Weight of Life, Keves Battle, A Formidable Foe, Tactical Action and You will Know our names-finale. There are also more peaceful, emotional themes in Xenoblade, so if you like that kind of music you should also give those a listen

Fates was an objectively bad game but the music always hits

While hearing this song without context it's very good but it's incredibly integral to a few pivotal cutscenes/events in the game that is so well done, it will blow you away. Monolith has this crazy ability to make the music mesh so perfectly with the scene, it's hard to describe properly. You should play the game. its outstanding

You said you were looking up amazing Xenoblade music, and so I feel the need to toss out my favorite song in the entire series, which is Drifting Soul from Xenoblade 2. There isn’t a bad song on a single soundtrack in the series though, they’re all incredible.

I quite literally started playing Xenoblade Chronicles because of the music. I like listening to OST playlists while working, and one day TH-cam started automatically playing some Xenoblade mixes. I fell in love with the music and knew that I HAD to play these games to see where those gorgeous and epic tunes came from! So glad I got those random autoplays, because the Xenoblade games are some of the best games I've ever played! Definitely give them a go asap!

You're right, it's mainly played during very important action focused cutscenes and contributes to the atmosphere a lot!

Each of the three main games has one song like this, it's consiered the big moment song, the one in 3 (The Weight of Life) actually references both this one and the one from 1 (Engage the Enemy).

What yuzuki did was horrible but I think it was clearly out pity She compared the situations where Haruto was going to continue living and have a chance to find happiness and the guy dying wasn't. So she chose to give the dying guy some good final memories by being there with him. I say it was horrible because it hurt Haruto, Herself, and i don't think fake relationship was what he truly wanted deep down. Cutting off contact made it so much worse but you have to remember she's in highschool. Instead of facing it this is exactly what they would do Im pretty sure it was out of pity because she doesn't make the relationship sexual and just spends time with him. She was in highschool so making that choice seems reasonable and not too horrendous once you think about her age. Highschool kids do stupid stuff or choices they regret. Not sure if it ever states that she regretted that decision but at least she had the decency to feel guilt
