Yes indeed, shot with the 360 lens on the insta360 one r. That's on the Hook Peninsula, beautiful clear water in the summer on the south coast. Much clearer than the Irish sea where visibility isn't great at all. Nice to snorkel in too, thanks for watching, nollaig shona dhuit 🎄

Yes, it is a stunning island, most of the West of Ireland is. That rugged beauty is magnificent. The ones that made it to America, never forget where they came from and Ireland is always part of their soul, DNA and makeup.

Yeah, that is the South East of Ireland, the water there comes all the way from the Gulf of Mexico on the North Atlantic current.

Thanks William, yeah it's the 360 lens on the insta360 camera. I have the same video with the full 360 view uploaded. If you have a VR headset, like an Oculus you can view it, like actually being there. And on a cold and dark November evening like tonight, I could do with the feeling of actually being there again 🤣

Yes, the location is still unspoilt and stunning. When you get a day like the one we got on that day, it is truly spectacular. The view out over the Blasket Islands, with the sun setting over the Atlantic ocean, magical. We stayed for two nights on The Great Blasket island, but that's a different video and story, gorgeous also...

@@Karl_with_a_K Everything about the film, location - cast - props - and so on was spot on in my humble opinion and not forgetting the local extras who added to make the film in a class of it's own and the revenue it generated to nearby communities also 👍

No, it was never an actual functioning School. It was, along with the entire village built as the set for the movie. Saying that however the structure and design would have been in keeping with a typical school of its time, ie: one entrance for boys, another for girls etc. The chimney in the building is just ornamental, if you look at it closer there is no fireplace or flue, just the chimney on top. It was amazingly well built considering it was a temporary structure needed only for a few months while filming.

@@Karl_with_a_K thanks for that Karl, just watched the whole film today and it’s a shame that they couldn’t keep the school intact as a tourist attraction for the area ? But yeah nice to see it’s managed to survive all these years, well some of it lol

@@timeemotion1076 Yes absolutely, turn it into a coffee shop for the summer months or something. There's quite a bit of day tripper traffic out to the Great Blasket island, the large island with the two hills. So it would be ideal to have the old schoolhouse as a coffee and snack shop. The views from it are stunning. So someday perhaps... 👍

It is Ger, we got great weather when we went and it was really peaceful. From the highest peak you can see all the other islands and even as far as the Skelligs to the south. I'd love to get onto An Tiaracht but there are no public landings there... Go n-éirí leat.

You can indeed Martin, we stayed two nights. No hot water or electricity! But it was great. We explored the whole island. The island holds a special place in the history of Ireland and Irish language history. Bhí sé go hiontach.

@@Karl_with_a_K tks Karl .I went there for a trip about 3 years ago...the isolation and peace was amazing. Wouldn't mind staying a week there, but I see it's all booked up on the Airbnb site...might just bring a tent and rough it. Tks again for your reply .slan
