Are misalignments ever visibly obvious around the vertebrae it attaches to?
I'm not exactly sure what you mean but when ribs (or other joints) aren't moving the way they're supposed to there's usually muscle tension and inflammation in the area which can be visible. In other words, the imbalance is obvious. I hope that helps!

Hi! I think that's too long on a yoga ball and eventually you'll use the wrong muscles to support yourself, possibly hurting your back. I would use the ball for an hour in the am and an hour in the pm to change it up if possible. Thanks for your feedback. :)

Hi! It can be very hard to fix without getting it adjusted. Sometimes balancing the muscles and fixing your posture will provide some relief but you have to be careful because if the rib is very locked up you can aggravate it. These may help but it’s hard for me to know because I don’t know your health history. @@AskDrLaina I suspect I have a Pontine Cavernoma Myself, but have been Dying to Try an Inversion Table for other Spinal Issues, but didn't want to Die Trying. (If you know what I mean). BTW. I watched a Scary TH-cam Doco on a Washington DC Woman who was Diagnosed with a Cav Mal after a spontaneous Bleed on Holiday and she had Done a 'Horsing Around' Handstand for a Fun Photo PRIOR to the Brain Bleed. Maybe THAT Random Inversion was the Catalyst for HER 🩸

Thank you for this explanation! So helpful! Question: I use an ottoman that is the same height as my futon and sit with a pillow behind my back. What are your thoughts on this way of sitting to relax?
You're so welcome! An ottoman is great and you can rest your feet on it with knees bent or straight. The key is to support your back so your lower back doesn't round . If it starts to round you'll notice your shoulders coming forward, that's what you don't want. I hope that's helpful. Please let me know if it's unclear.

Do you find these kinds of posture correctors help with early signs of tech neck? I suppose in a way that if you're not slouching forward as much, you're head isn't falling forward with it. I'm 6 months into a desk job (previously very active job) and have scoliosis and a slight developing tech neck, so I'm trying to combat the thoracic pain between my shoulder blades and looking for ways to minimize poor posture pain. Got a good ergonomic chair and keep very active outside of work

If i sit without support or pillow .. will it make my back muscles strong over period of time?
Not if you're having to tense muscles to stay that way. Tension isn't the same as strength. Start with the pillow and then you'll notice that for short periods you can sit aligned without a pillow...while keeping your spine relaxed.
When the rib is slipped on one side, can it cause pain down the other side as well?

Great video..... I think this machine or topic or concept is highly under rated..... I mean not documented well. I wonder you could tell us angle....... I think for beginners for may be 4 to 6 weeks maximum 45 degree is good. Later someone could go to the maximum 60 degree..... What do you think? Higher angle (45 degree) and more minutes OR 60 degree angle and less minutes? Again very good video....
Hi, its hard to give general advice but I'd say lesser incline for longer is easier on the body. Even a slight decrease in angle can be a great deal more load so you need to be careful. I hope that's helpful!

My left shoulder and sides and rib cage don't seem to want to move to well , so i been doing a little hanging and i thought that was supposed to help, but, feel strain in my chest and ribs, using the stretch bands might help , but, jts shaky i am afraid of throwing my shoulder wrongly and making it worse . Is there a different way i should do this or just gradually a little at a time.?

The easiest way of Sitting on the floor is the way no one sits or talks about that is Putting one leg completely above the other.This is the way I have been sitting from my childhood but I don’t see many people sit like that.But it’s very easy.
