I get the opportunity to rebuild my grandpas old pontoon boat after it had been sitting for years.
My grandpa Charlie used to take anyone out fishing that wanted to go on this old pontoon boat when I was a kid. After I left for the Army he got to the point, at some time during my career, that he could no longer go fishing on the old boats so he sold it (for $1) to my sister then it sat for years. Once I retired from the army I bought it from my sister (for $5, she made a 400% profit) and I moved it to our newly built house in hopes to rebuild it one day.
That day has finally arrived for me to rebuild this old boat and this is the footage of what it took to bring her back to life.
My grandpa passed away in 2016 and I cherish the memories of him on that old boat as he taught me how to fish and how to love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Many fish fries took place because of the success on this old boat. It will be a part of my legacy to have my kids catching fish on this boat just as I did so many years ago.
