How to remove the first ring ? When it has no floss ?
After washing it I shake it real hard and the water that gets stuck in there helps to get it out. No tools needed
I've been soaking mine in dilute bleach and thats not even working. I'll try this, but what a PIA.
0:58 “copyright to me” pls there are comments on reddit year older than this video suggesting people to use dental floss to pull the gasket out
Does anyone know if it's possible to get a replacement seal I have looked everywhere online for one and Ninja say they do not sell them!
I have got one in Amazon
I just removed my seal and it was full of mold too. So disgusting. I called customer service and got the run around. I was told I'd have to buy a whole new blade unit with a new seal since they do not sell the seals individually. I like the machine but this seal issue is not sanitary. Thanks for the floss idea.
Is it not designed for the ring to stay in? Surely we shouldnt have to clean it after every smoothie lol but I understand all the issues it can get like leaks etc
My was leaking and I got a new blade. I have 3 blades I did not know the gaskets needed to be cleaned. Until I ordered a new blade from Amazon. They sent me a gasket. It is very hard to remove it. This idea of putting floss is a great idea.

I just pulled mine out with a nut pick. It was very difficult to get out and was very black with mold. I am soaking it in peroxide. I have also had a hard time finding on the website a replacement gasket!

Having the same problem. How did you remove the seal without damaging it?
hi there - a real problem, I know! Well, I used the smallest skewer I could find in the drawer which I would maybe use for baking - one that is small, pointed but not sharp so as to pierce or damage the seal when trying to remove. Once inserted at a slight angle to get 'under' the skin of the seal as it were, using a slight pressure, it is possible to coax the seal off sufficiently upwards to then prise off with fingers.
I managed to get mine out with a fork, but a dental pick would work as well.
I agree with all your complaints here. I recently discovered a very moldy gasket in the blade part and it is in fact, very difficult to remove without damaging it. The deep placement of the thick gasket is definitely poor engineering design on Ninja's part, not that they care
Thank you very much!
Excellent solution! Does this stay attached while you are doing smoothies so you then can clean later? Thanks for posting!
Thank you for your valuable comment. I found both Ninja and the retailer to be quite nonchalant about the issue. To answer your question - yes, the line stays in place and if made long enough (about 5") it can be placed well out of the way when screwing on the jar and I have found no issues after making smoothies.
