Dear Joshua, thank you for sharing your cello playing. 👏 I used to play (not only) this suite a lot and, like you, I always played the last chords in the Prelude as arpeggios, except for the last one, where I played the upper notes together. Perhaps you might like to take a look at how Ailbhe McDonagh, whom I recently discovered here th-cam.com/video/apYAwk5KraQ/w-d-xo.html plays the end of the Prelude. The interpretations are so varied. My Baerenreiter edition which I purchased in the last 1980s is with orange cover from August Wenzinger from 1950. 😉 It's always interesting to hear different interpretations. I want to encourage you to continue on your path with the cello. 😊 And there is a lot to discover here on TH-cam. Do you also compose for cello? Kind regards and my best wishes, from Germany, Tilman. (I'm also on SoundCloud).
Awesome! Practicing this piece right now, as I’ve just finished the first movement. The Haydn’s concerto has to be my favorite song to play, and it’s an absolutely beautiful piece.
