Thanks for cheering up my day! Amazing playing
what is the conductor doing??? LOL
looks like he's playing a long Bach cornet. nice.
That's some fine controlled trumpet playing, wonderful and silky smooth. made to sound like it's the easiest piece to play. i can assure you it isn't. well done.
In 2 1/2 minutes, the horns earn their pay for the evening.
Hey, Professor! 😆😂🤣
MERCI Monsieur Christoper Martin .
Bravo!! Fantastic piece and superbly played. Some good solos 😍
I remember sitting behind Alice Clevenger (then Render) in the I.U. Philharmonic when I first arrived there in the fall of 1982 to begin my masters in trumpet. Our first concert of the semester was Bruckner 9th, and I was literally blown away by her first entrance in rehearsal! What a sound she had!
She was a beautiful player. Sadly, very sadly, missed.
Tim Morrison - legendarily great. And, he is a very nice human being.
Love this!!
Great film too.

The introduction to the solo trumpet piece at 3.09 is sublime !
I love this band more than the goofy piece.
Beautiful
Nicely done!
Push the button Max

Send to this to anyone that says their chops hurt lol
He is the best. Thank you for posting this again. I have missed it and I know some other people have also. I am posting it in the Tom Wopat Dedication Fan Club group on Facebook.
This just reminded me that I should go back to the Midwest Clinic. I went to the 75th anniversary with some friends from school but it always lands on finals week
nice delivery
Chris Martin Looks kinda like Rick Astley.
This is as good as anything Williams ever wrote, in my humble opinion!
Would love the trumpet score from 3:09 to 3:47 specifically.
SIMPLEMENTE INCREÍBLE
Esa a big fan obviously, superb conducting
The best ever performance you will hear of this iconic work. Salonen, a horn player himself, truly understands the work. On the other hand, the recent Intrada Records CD of the same work is nothing short of a travesty thanks to a conductor clearly out of his depth.
Un très bon sacato tertiaire bien piqué. Bravo jeune homme
Felicidades
this song was in our marching band show last year and i think it sounds so amazing
Why do do refer to an 'instrumental' piece as a 'song'? You know zilch about music.
@@josephcarlbreil5380 ok god of music, my bad for using the wrong term. smite me.
FANTÁSTICO 👏👏👏👏👏👏💯
I'm a junior high school student, and I'm practicing this now. OMG it's pretty hard. Specially it's Intro's Cadenza. And the third variation
That's E.P. Salonen, not "E.S." And Salonen's version probably comes closest to the frenzied abandon of the original soundtrack performance under Herrmann's baton, though the clanging steel plate is a bit too front-and-center.

Too self indulgently fast but exciting. Charles Gerhardt set the standard.
Bravo
