The bug I have with my 8900D is that the CPS software sees it as a KT-890 not a 8900D, Chirp legend won't connect it even though it's in the list, Chirp Next I can't use as it's 64bit where my machine is 32bit... Had to do everything by the handmic and radio.... Took all weekend 😢

_Field Day_ is an interesting use case. This antenna would sure make a good *conversation starter!* What I find really _”interesting”_ is the case of a _multi-band_ antenna that’s actually good at 60 meters but not 20! 60 tends to be a _strange beast!_ I was looking at *_end-fed random wire_* antennas, and I was looking at what lengths were good for what bands. I noticed a few lengths good for 80 meters. Then some longer ones for 160. But 60 was conspicuously absent until I was looking at 160 meters. The shortest one on 160 omitted 60. Only the next longest antenna finally took in 60 - longer than an *EFHW* specifically for 60! I can't believe this video is *3 years old* and mine is only the *SECOND* command (and *9TH* like)! Great presentation! *73 de AF6AS in **_“DM13”_** land*

Thanks, 3 years later. I built one 15 years ago. I included a fine tuning variable capacitor which really added to its usability. I also remember it possibly having a tickler coil. Unfortunately I ended up moving and lost the receiver. Having an amateur license I had an interest in rebuilding the receiver. I could not find my original schematic and tried over time two schematics found on the internet. I could not get neither working & it might have been a bias issue as you found. I do plan on trying to build the direct conversion receiver that the SolderSmoke channel designed for H.S. students but want to start with a simple regen as a prelude. I've looked on the net and having gone to grad school for math not electronics I was confused by some of what the net offered. I stumbled on your adaptation & knowing that it will work I grabbed screen shots off my cell phone and will give it a good effort.

I played again with this radio ...Again the same results..It doesn't pick almost anything...I didn't try to replace the transistor with something different because sometimes It can help..The regeneration is not smooth at all ,little bit and it will blow your ears and little less and it doesn't oscilate..I tried to replace the coil with one for shortwave. I managed to pick some morse code ,but very very weak ...I think the design its not so great because there are others with one transistor radio and they work..I guess what he is recieving in the video is a local station ... Anyway it was fun..

Thank you VERY VERY much. I would not have had a CLUE of how to wire this up. You are very clear. But what threw me, to which I had to sift through your examples, is when you substituted both a brown and later a black wire in your examples for red wire 'out' for number 1. I've been suffering from super resistant scabies. I'm hoping that this BobBeck device may 'execute' them. When I read the testimonials on the bobBeck site, I'm surprised out how many people, with differing ailments have been helped. There is a saying 'there may be a purpose for everything'. - I don't necessary hold to it, but in this case of long suffering, having applied many 'remedies' that have not worked, even making a Hulda Clark Zapper, but with no satisfaction, I've been completely stumped. I figtured then that I needed a much stronger 'zap', to which, searching the Net, I came across the BobBeck blood purifier, then your TH-cam instruction section. Due to your help, I shall now go to work, make one of these and see how it 'fairs' out. I'm not sure how the 'colloidal silver' gadget side works and also wondering as to how the two stainless steel 'pins' are to be applied. I'm wondering at how many ailments that this gadget can help. There is much sickness out there. As a senior, for lengths of time I've suffered a throat infection that hangs on. But when I began using my home made Hulda Clark zapper, I've noticed that my throat has improved. You may have noticed that many seniors develop 'crackly' voices. It is this same form of throat infection. Both the sinus and the throat contain a pocket each to which such infections 'set in' and hang on. By the way, my name is 'Jerry Mecham', and I live in Perth, W.A. While watching your video presentation, and looking at your hands, I noticed that your hands look VERY MUCH like mine, shape, and even skin spots! - which gave me a giggle. Thanks again Oh, if you can give me any tips about the colloidal silver maker/circuit/ making, I will appreciate it.
