In this video I walk from the famous Pont Vieux of Carcassonne through the medieval town on Rue Trivalle before entering and exploring the Medieval Castle, Château Comtal including it's ramparts. Very impressive and foreboding, looks impregnable. In 1207 the castle looked pretty much as it does now, well guarded by a seasoned force of desperate Cathars. Water was no issue and they had time to lay in provisions for a lengthy siege. The castle was surrendered to the King of France in only nine days of siege. Pretty wimpy
I couldn't help but notice the lack of plants and trees 🤔
