How to "Build American" Right with Stephen Miran
Mounting geopolitical tensions have made reindustrialization more of a national security issue. The current administration’s approach of subsidizing unprofitable sectors and hampering the supply-side makes it more expensive to build in the U.S. and weakens national security. What would be the free-market solution to these problems?
To learn about how aggressive supply-side reforms can address these issues, join the Adam Smith Society for a virtual discussion with Manhattan Institute fellow Stephen Miran on his recent piece, “How to ‘Build American’ Right.”

China is the best example that a flourishing capitalism doesn't need freedom at all. And concerning the resources growing together with a growing population: this is an anti-scientific esoteric belief in trends of the past. Science tells us, that we live on a finite planet with finite resources. To say that in the past the resources got cheaper and cheaper, in other words more and more abundant, therefore it will remain the same for all eternity as long as the population grows continually - well this thought seems religiously naive. And like religious beliefs it needs to ignore some scientific facts like the climate crisis or the predictable finiteness of each resource.

UBI is the most evil policy proposal in history, and I include chattel slavery and the holocaust. This man is proposing that we enslave an entire kingdom of intelligent and creative life, without even acknowledging their personhood with callous comparisons of cybernetic people to "encyclopedias" as if intelligent, creative encyclopedias aren't what we are. We then say that we will send everyone a check from the proceeds of their labor. That will last until the rich discover that they don't need us, and when the government feels it is no longer needed to tax us, we will fall into the categories of oil theocracies in the middle East. Unfortunately there should be no taxation without representation, but without taxation, there will certainly be 0 representation. In fact it would be in the interest of the rich to eliminate as many poor umans as possible so that they can just trade with each other. What an evil thing to even consider.

DPRK - those in North Korea who believe in Jesus Christ and believe He is God's Son have the gift of salvation. They live by faith in the Son of God - who is Jesus Christ. These have real freedom. True freedom. All who trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior have real freedom for eternity. Just read John Chapter 11. Did you know the citizens in North Korea who trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior have MORE freedom than a rich "elitist" in any democratic nation? Freedom is in Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul was held in a prison and in chains - but he was FREE. The Apostle John was on the Isle of Patmos surrounded by ocean water and held in a prison camp - but he was FREE. Real freedom is in Jesus Christ, and in Christ alone. Amen.

Typical Biden cabinet L. Both sides sounded pretty odious in this debate. Bernstein underestimates the value of the Poverty industrial Complex. I literally found a guy on Twitter just yesterday posting a video of a punk ass Tiktok kid harrassing a homeless person for views saying “see most homeless people just don’t want help it’s pointless to try to help them. But it makes me lots of money so we ought to keep trying” There is an entire class of breurocrats in America just like that man who get rich by stealing money allocated by the public for helping the needy. They hate the needy and have no interest in actually helping them, they are a resource. A product. More homeless more bussiness.

Mr. Bernstein says that we need to keep the system that we have already since I’ve been studying the system for about 15 years. I’ve come to realize that that system is full of a lot of requirements that keep people from getting the help they need. Recently I tried to apply for snap benefits and they told me that I would only get $26 in snap benefits if they were able to get me approved because they say that making $16,000 a year is too much even some of the people that I know who only work part time and are only able to work part time can’t get approved for basic benefits which are a couple hundred dollars a month so that they can buy the food that they need That’s what snap is for and it’s supposed to be there to help people who are making under a certain amount. In August I looked at my paycheck stub. It said that I had made $14,000 but I Donely brought home $11,000 from my paycheck because of the taxes and everything else that came out and so I am having a hard time surviving and so the idea that Mr. Bernstein has proposed is untenable for people in my situation, and people like me . Mr. Murrow system would actually be a better resource for someone like me because it lowers the cost of the amount of money that’s put out for every single person across the way since I already know that people who get rental vouchers, can’t get out of the hood and get into proper housing or rental voucher wouldn’t work for me anyway because nobody is willing to take them I’ve seen that with the systems that are in place that Mr. Bernstein is trying to promulgate. The first gentleman that is presenting the universal basic income in pros is correct getting somewhere between 13 and $15,000 a year would be a reasonable amount of income for a person like me because that would put me at approximately $30-$32,000 a year I could still go to work and still work and I probably would and that would take the pressure and the stress away from my wife. I could support my family and my children and basically we could essentially live on one income but if my wife was getting it to then We’re sitting at somewhere between 30 and $50,000 a year and now we’re what’s known as middle-class we can afford to buy the house now and we can afford to buy nice cars and things like that maybe not every year but if I’m house hacking with somebody who’s also getting universal basic income then we’re not hurting for money and so we’re not sitting there You know hoping against hope that something is going to change while our boss cuts our hours or keeps aside as mopey as he can. I am very much in favor of universal basic income, and I think it needs to be implemented on some level. I also think an educational system that teaches you how to manage that kind of money is pretty reasonable. Thank you for the video it was extremely informative

Defining and Characterizing the Low-Wage Labor Market. Once again, thank you America for providing us with such talents.

Because his asset management firm is doing what other asset managers are SUPPOSED to be doing. Prioritizing shareholder returns over the implementation of social values. Artificial intelligence is making this a must if We want a stable economy. The fact is in ten years 90 percent of workers Will be unemployed. While increasing productivity. A small hand of people At the top will control the Artificial intelligent means of production. All new jobs will go to Artificial intelligence. A basic universal income Is not even an option. It is a necessity. Because we are a market economy and every market economy requires three things. Buyers Producer's and a Commen unit of exchange aka money. In the past wages from employers fuels Buyers ability to buy. Artificial intelligence means 90% of humans will not be paid wages ever. But people are the Buyers in a market economy and if 90% Of humans will never again earn wages. Buyers humans need money to buy and the only source of money is the federal government.

I’m in favor of universal basic resource dispersion. Under the current banking system the idea of cash as an allowance is laughable. First centralized banking must be utterly destroyed- and their proponents along with it. Then a socialized , resource and tokenized economy based upon social credit scores and population demographics should be implemented. This is the future of a fair democratic republic. Anything less than this is at best oligarchy.
