The blade is laminated stainless. You can see the layers in the scan grind. It's a work of art. I got mine a bit wet when I sharpened it and the scales swelled up and came away from the metal... They didn't shrink back quite the same. I have just soaked the knife in a jar of Tung oil and hopefully it won't absorb water as much in future.
