Worked a pit for a few seasons with a 5000.....it was never the ideal machine for the job Out 188 multi power was far better setup for it, better torque, better balance
I used to push up with a 5000 and wylie buckrake 👍 ours had a 66 X cross block and it pulled like a train, reaching down to select external services was a pain as ours didn't have a spool valve, great tractor had ours for 16 years think it ended up being exported.
When I left school in 1992 I had my first job on a farm and I learn't to drive on a grey fergie and a ford 5000. I see loads of little grey fergies, In fact I own a TEF20. But you just don't see the old Fords these days. I know where theirs a farm in Worlds End nr Wrexham with a Ford 4000.
mark pritchard man I know I’m 5 years late but I took a 5000 on a tractor run recently and there just have been at least 10 other 5000 and 4000s at it, be interesting to know if your view hasn’t changed recently👌🏻
Ford 5000s got the job done everytime the old boys use to say keep two fergie's 20 a hauling silage and you would get plenty work done in the day
Sounds like crap besides a davy brown
I liked it all. been happy if video was longer, enthusiastic driver gr8 classic Tractor
I bet his leg and knee aches like fuck at the end of the day with all that clutching ,
The clutch wasn't too heavy on the 5000, our MF 135 had a heavier clutch.

Mark Pritchard, because along with the 7000 most of them have been exported to places like Thailand.
Useless tractor for the buckrake, high reverse was too fast and low reverse too slow, and I used it on the pit from the age of 12 to 23!
