I’m sorry - you should never drive in the automatic mode. Manual is the only way to go and with a Formula Dynamics drive by wire enhancement. Shift at 4,000 RPMs and above…when you go to shift, floor pedal and it will shift faster, avoid clutch slippage and last longer. Downshifting is fun to hear the engine but I coast in neutral when coming to a stop. When you go to accelerate…wait for the clutch to engage, then, give it the gas.

The fix doesn’t have to be so expensive. If you get an F430 without cracked headers, IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THE EXHAUST BRACKETS. The center mount is all you need, the additional brackets are actually too tight and what cause stress on the headers, leading them to fail. Should you NEED new headers, get the “top speed” headers. They’re about $1000-$2000 USD. Not bad at all. And it’s a DIY job if you’re handy.

I’ve had an 08 F430 Spider for three years now. It has run flawlessly. I did need engine mounts though. They make a huge difference. Anyone looking at one of these should check them. Not expensive if you do it yourself.
