มุมมอง 2.8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this tutorial I'll take you step by step through how you can restore rusted vintage locks using the magic of electrolysis. As a bonus, I'll also share the results of my first experimentation with ultrasonic cleaning technologies - a process ideal for locks with alloy components which tend to not fair well when submitted to electrolysis.
042 How to Crack a Soviet Combination Lock
มุมมอง 1.1K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this week's episode I'll be showing you how to decode a Soviet combination lock. I picked this lock up on EBay where it was listed as a 'Vintage Russian lock' and I bid on it because it was so different to the other models in my collection. We'll be looking at how to secure a 'blind' open (ie. without looking at the dials) as well as decoding it using visual cues. Enjoy!

037 how to bypass a magnetic padlock
มุมมอง 5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this episode I’ll be taking you through the steps I took to bypass a vintage magnetic padlock. With no open keyway, and a devious locking mechanism, this lock type can’t be shimmed, pickled or bumped so I needed to do some out of the box thinking in order to secure an open. This was definitely one of the more challenging locksport challenges I’ve undertaken and I learned a lot along the way.
036 How to restore and pick a 6 lever lock
มุมมอง 2.5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this episode, I'll be sharing my thoughts about how to restore and pick a 6 lever lock. I'll take you through the steps needed to employ two chemical baths, made from readily available household items which I used to restore the lock to working order. Then I'll go on to teach you how I made the tools needed to pick the lock, including an animation explaining the internal mechanism of a 6 lev...
035 How to use a locksport decoder card
มุมมอง 1.7K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this episode I will show you how to use a locksport decoder card in order to solve a devious little conundrum I've come up with! I've taken three keys with different bitting and their corresponding key pins which I've sealed in blank envelopes. After shuffling them up, the challenge will be to reunite each pair using a recent market release by Red Team Tools - the DDC20. This all-in-one tool...
034 How to make a new key using a Lishi decoder and cutting tool
มุมมอง 77K3 ปีที่แล้ว
If you've wondered how to make a new key using a Lishi Decoder and cutting tool, then this is the episode for you! Having misplaced the key to my Sparrows Cutaway lock, I decided to try and produce a working key without gutting the lock, simulating the conditions I might face out in the field. While impressioning would be the best approach I think, I am only just starting to learn that nuanced ...

A few weeks ago I received a package of locksport booty from US picker Pix which contained some really interesting items. Rather than just do a traditional unboxing video, I thought I'd try out something a little different - so I've created my first locksport unboxing quiz. Can you correctly answer all 10 questions?! Give it a try and please do stick around at the end to find out how you can wi...
032 This is how to pick your first Small Format Interchangeable Core
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this episode, you'll learn how to pick your first Small Format Interchangeable Core. Having received an SFIC Lock Voy padlock from Doctor Hogmaster last week, I set about learning everything I could find about Small Format Interchangeable cylinders. They are not easy to pick because, as you'll see, they are designed to provide two independent sheer lines - one which operates the locking mech...

030 Mini Lathe for Locksport - review
มุมมอง 4.5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
One of my latest acquisitions is a mini lathe which I have used successfully to polish picks, shape tension wrenches from windshield wiper blades and craft my first security driver pins from 3mm brass rod. This relatively cheap power tool has allowed me to operate more safely and precisely, freeing up both hands to manipulate the materials I'm working with. If you are considering getting into l...

015 How to Hold your Lock Pick for Success
I've used just about all brands of U.S. made lock picking tools. I can say that going from an unfinished HPC hook to a tumbled Southord does give the user better feedback. When I was taken on for an apprenticeship as a Locksmith I taught myself to use the bottom of the barrel non tumbled picks. The reason for this was Cost, I didn't mind losing or bending HPC picks due to them costing $1.75 each. However if I were to lose a kit filled with premium picks that would certainly hurt my wallet to replace them. Over time I did start sanding and polishing those HPC brand tools because they were holding up quite well. I still have an HPC LPX-12 hook that I finished to a mirror sheen that has lasted nearly two years. Point is you can become acclimated to picks that are smooth and overtime you can just as well become acclimated to the rough ones.
Wait, so I don’t get it. You had to change these pins in order to unlock it. You can unlock it the way it was delivered to you as is?
If the steel is snapping, like at 3:52, the steel was probably not tempered. To temper small bits of steel pretty much any flame will do. The range in your kitchen, a pluming torch, etc. Put the steel in flame. You’re looking for it to gain a light straw color. Allow to air cool. This refines the grain and make it a bit more flexible.it shouldn’t snap after that.
Excellent video!!! huge thanks 🎉🎉🎉
where can I get the metal for the decoder part?
If you put the flat blade of the decoder into the top left of each code wheel and gently push up, when you rotate the code wheel down the tool will go up about 10mm when it finds the gate. Align the gates then up two on each wheel for the open. Much quicker, average 25 seconds for the open.
I'm still new, putting the time in. These 1100s are kicking my ass. I'll tell you what though, despite only successfully picking one 1100, it has made me better at picking other locks.
Brilliant! You saved me so much time! In my case I used a thin strip of beer can (lol!)
Just found your channel was polishing my new pick. Thanks for the video. New sub from pinconning michigan
Lol its just common sense. Cant believe anyone needed a tutorial on how to hold a tool
I love you❤❤
I've been opening my Master Lock 875 with the tension method for years. So easy to do and faster than the feeler method, I think. They use the 875's at our Home Improvements store (Home Depot) here since locking up nearly everything to thwart thieves. And I am always sorely tempted to simply open their locks to get whatever I am shopping for, (but I never succumb to the temptation). It makes it that much more frustrating to wait up to 10 minutes for a clerk to arrive and open the caged shelf for me...
And I was hoping that this was a trick question and all keys used the same pins though in a different order.
Oh lord thisi s like a mensa test.
I have a stack of these without the key. I been trying for months and still nothing
Most informative video ive watched on this. Definitely subscribing!
I dont have the key to do this on the lock I wanna pick
It's about time someone told the fuckin truth. I give you respect!! These clowns on utube use older locks and vids from 8byeats ago so u will buy there shit that don't work on new locks.
Gone and bought a cheap and nasty version of this lock (as if that's possible) and its fixed! they have made the wheels such a tight fit theres zero shim space! But, where the code mechanism is fitted, the outer casing has too large a hole by like 0.5mm, so you can slide something in and simply push on the case locking claw...... like shimming an old padlock with a bit of coke can.
I've just watched a video of a chap using a chopped up Coke can
Oh you're in Norwich, haha. The council use Master Lock's boxes to store the keys to the roofs and service areas of the council flats... I shall say no more.
Wow amazing tutorial thanks I thought that was how spool pins acted but your visualisation help a lot!
excellent video! I found my self tapping on this title out of curiosity. I quickly discovered bonus information... then, better bonus information... and then... even better bonus informit- ivemation!!!
Great video thanks so much
I hope you're not dead... I believe that you're did make yourself so wealthy that you simply forget about your channel.
Wow! I was on the fence about whether or not I actually knew how these locks work. Your video made it crystal clear. Thank you! Great video!
I have just done a video on this rhino, and its got a wafer lock
Great video!
The fishy rip off scam tool 🐟 🤣
💩TUBE AND 💩TALK 👄 😆
this steel is not hard enough
Nice video as usual. But you made a slight oversight. Lishi picks will often set the deepest cut pins, due to the blade. So when you insert the Lishi pick, they pins will not necessarily all be unset, more likely some will be set and some unset.
What the hell is this, how do you sleep at night showing every petty criminal in the country how to get in peoples houses, hopefully karma burgles your house, you can then post a video on how shit and insecure you feel in your house, reported to youtube but we all know thats a waste of time
This is a big help Fish.Iv been struggling with my 1100 I got a few days ago.Iv opened 7 times in the first 2 days but nothing yesterday or today.I will try this technique though👍🏻
Amazingly made lock-picking easy and understandable.
Fish, you did it for me, thank you. I've been trying to open a 4 wheel lockbox for more than a week now (not continuously), then I saw your video and ... make a "decoder" out of a feeler gauge! Well, I have a feeler gauge. So I found one that fit, not snugly, but not loosely - 13mm (15mm was just a bit snug). I put the feeler gauge in at the left side of the first wheel - then just marked the gauge (along the top of the wheel). Moved it one to make sure that 0 wasn't the first digit. 3 wheels later and ... no. I got the number (and wrote it down the SECOND time), but the box wouldn't open! So I started decrementing all 4 wheels by 1, trying, decrement by another 1, try ... eventually it opened. (I have no idea why I chose the number I did. Now it's set to 0000, until I need it again. So thank you.
12pc broken key extractor kit online for a few bucks does the job very well. Slight modification to one or two of them and you now have a full set with varying gauges down to 0.15mm.
Where did you get your giant lock model? It’s brilliant
I made one of these using a nail file.
That was fantastic. Now alls I need is the name of the clamps you used in the video oh! And where to buy them.. Thank you.. Robbie from huyton Liverpool UK 🇬🇧
Best video I've been able to find on the subject.
You have a link to some of your picks you use?
I'm handicapped and have been using a regular table vice for 2 months. just recently got the table panavice along with the super clamp. Would love to find a way to mount it to my powerchair. Currently I have to sit at a table to pick.
Applying tension as you normally would to open a standard lock will not work as you need to apply tension to the control sheer line only . other wise you will only be able to pick the lock open . You described two sheer lines in your vid . How can you apply tension since the second sear line is not accessible by using your tension wrench .
What alloy of steel are quality wiper blades made from? (alloy number would be particularly invaluable). Given that information, it is easy to get the details for heat treatment. Heat treating is not difficult. It would lead to less breakage when twisting the metal. You would then treat the metal to a desired flexibility and/or hardness,
I wish I could like this more than once. I’m nowhere near picking an 1100 yet, but I love the methodical approach and realizing that it’s okay to take things apart first when you’re learning. What a great explanation. Thank you!
I got three acrylic locks with my set. I can get two of them in less than five seconds with rakes but the third (the exact one in the video) I can't manage to get with anything (TOK/BOK, adjusting tension, trying different picks, etc).
Good tip. It would be even better if we knew the size of the material used. My wiper material is 1.2mm thick by 3.8mm wide and it seems a bit too thick?
Can this lock still be found? I found a bunch of similar (but probably different) locks on amazon and ebay with vastly different prices (from 10 Euro up to 80+). How do I know which is the one where the pins are easily swappable?
My 1100 has identical key 🤯 what are the odds of that?
