Tutorial: Smallest Ever Self-Sufficient Lvl 9 Steam Engine - Minecraft Create Mod
This is my most recent design for a really space efficient steam engine design. It features 14 cauldrons for infinite fuel, a hand crank and button to turn the steam engine on and off, and it all fits into an incredibly compact 6x7x5 area. I have made the tutorial into multiple parts so that it is easy to follow along.
Questions and feedback is appreciated!!

My First Self-Sufficient Lvl 9 Steam Engine - Minecraft Create Mod
มุมมอง 3.8Kปีที่แล้ว
This steam engine is extremely compact, fitting in a 6x9x5 block area including the blocks around the lava. It can be started from idle or cold using the hand crank, and also has a shutoff clutch that can be activated remotely or via a redstone signal. Music: Wet Hands - C418 -

MINDNIGHT Episode 1 - "BRB!"
มุมมอง 1794 ปีที่แล้ว
MINDNIGHT!! Welcome to a game of social deduction.. enjoy the video! Feel free to comment or suggest any other games you'd like to see me play.
easily understood and followed. Great tutorial!
how do i stop the pipes from connecting to other unwanted components?
Still works in 2025! Very cool design man
4:20 (he he nice) why the encased chain drives tho? cant you just use shafts with andisite casing? (please keep in mind im a F-ing moron and all my create knolige comes from shals)
Only downside when stoping it destroys our pipes cause it makes cobble out of it i destroyed some cauldrons do not know if its still enought though
As of December 1st 2024 this works with a slight modification to the rotation direction going into the liquid valve as well as making sure the pumps are facing the right directions.
what kind of modification did you have to do. the lava in my steam engine hasn't gone through the valve
@@flemingoes I think he just has one or both of them facing backwards according to what he showed in the video. I would just switch both orientations he showed and if that doesnt work try them one by one
Where is the power output mate? or does not matter where i put the SU output?
What is the fluid valve for ?
ik this is an old video but i just built this and everything goes smooth until the mechanical pump at the top when the lava is flowing through it just stops at the pump and i have the little arrow pointing to the left as shown in the video???
What is supposed to be in the chest?
Empty buckets
@tannerg6036 ty
1 year later and its still a working design. I LOVE HOW U DO TUTORIALS IN SURVIVAL AND SHOW WHAT ITEMS UR USING TYSM
can you help? when i load schematic some things broke like wheels or pump and when i place it back its imminently broke
@@muradgumbatov243 use the wrench, the direction you look while you place is important too.
@@charlievu5641 thanks but I already did other engine which is bigger
You can help me? I builded the machine but water is don't entreryng
@ make sure your pumps are placed properly and the water blocks are infinite
the lava doesnt work, fluid valve
Orientation is important, if you have the Blaze Burners in the South East I have bad news for you...
That’s not the smallest
where do we pump the SU out of for this? the rotation controller i assume
I was having a hard time getting the lava buckets to fill. Make sure your funnels are going the right direction
wait so youre telling me i didn't have to make a 10000 block lava cube xD
Cool but I can and have done better.
okay
Great tutorial! :D do I need to connect my machines at the rotational speed controller's gear?
man thx so much. Insanly easy to rebuild in your own world and it workes SO WELL. only thing i had to change was the fluid-valve because it just would not open what ever i would do
Pipes under the cauldrons are turning into stone. Why??
Idk why, but the Mechanical Arm can't seclect the Brass Funnel as output. It just gets placed. It's so annoying
You o could be using an older version?
Can anyone help me with a problem I’m having? For some reason the mechanical arm isn’t picking up the lava buckets and feeding them to the blaze burners
I also for some reason can’t get the water to go into the tank
For those having problems with the Lava flow not changing to green if you just setup a few gear boxes/shafts going from the bottom one around to the top one to change the direction and make it so the first one is not interacting with the last one in the chain it will open up. If your buckets are not being picked up use your wrench to swap the direction of one of the brass funnels i forget what one but one of them worked for me.
Sorry this is going to sound stupid asf, where do i plug in to get the power from?
my fluid valve is not opening but i got the rotation going the same way, how do i fix this?
I think this maybe is outdated? My fluid valve wont turn green even if I have the gears spinning the same way as the video, only way to fix it was to connect to valve to the speed controller so i could change the rotation
the fluid valve dont open cause de gear box close it, i dont know how fix it
Just posted a comment with a fix
Great engine, working well in Steampunk [LPS] v23.5. Great video as well, super easy to follow with some great pause frames to make sure you have everything you need for the next step. Doing it in survival with the scaffolding was a nice touch too, made it all that much easier to follow.
schematic link?
The engine worked great for me! but after running for a bit it stopped going and now gets overstressed when I try turning it back on. Any thoughts?
Nevermind, I just had to manually light some of the blaze burners and it started up again!
@@yusie8306 or disconnect whatever its powering while u start it
I really love that design and it works perfectly fine, thank you !!
Having trouble getting the water pumped of all things now. No idea why though.
I need to ask my mechanical Arm doesnt work it just doesnt Pick up or place anything while the machine is working can someone help
if you want to save a slight bit of cost for each machine replace the encased chain drives with shafts + andesite casing
Works like a charm!
i can say with confidence, this has been one of the mos frustraing, and annoying things I have ever set up in create, and perhaps a;l; opf minecraft. AND IT STILL DOESNT FUCKING WORK
skill issue
the hand wont pick the lava to the blazes!
remember the direction of the funnels too
how much tps does this need for the lava to be infinite
The filled lava buckets dont want to drop into the hopper... Which is very furstarting
same
@@nevoh4940 I just added another depot and mechanical arm to fix it. Its not really neat, but atleast it works.
@@lucajohnen6719 I fixed it, but my mechanical arm would not want to pick up the lava buckets
Schematics link is not available can you provide it...
i hope your family loves you for eternity, thank you
amazing!
Yo I just wanna say you are the fuckin goat for putting this out. I got a lil into Stoneblock 3 fairy recently because of someone, and now that I'm doing a solo run I've been struggling a little. I know jack shit about how create works, let alone steam engines. The ME Terminal system of Applied Energistics 2 is my expertise for the most part, but without power I can't begin to mess with that. This may not be a tutorial for steam engines, but it's helped far more than a tutorial could since it works like a charm. Thank you big time
anyone figure out why sometimes the off switch doesnt work?
is there a schematic download?
is there like a best spot to take rotational power out of the machine? like to power machines with it
I recreated in my world, but, i dont know how o from to use it
anyone have any idea why is my mechanical arm not putting the bucket back after giving the lava to the blaze?
