An early history of the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (District), BART.
There's a common theme where transit activists and politicians want a world-class transit system. So they decide one day to just sort of do it.
This typically doesn't work, especially if it involves any sort of sci-fi.
BART is the case study for this. Let's take a look at what happened.
