A Hospital in the Pines
Despite the rising standard of living in urban areas the Philippines, many people still cannot afford basic health care, and the need for humanitarian aid remains. Greater Outreach Medical and Educational Destinations (GO MED), a Canadian non-profit organization, has helped fill this need by providing free surgical care to indigent patients in Baguio during an annual two week period over the past six years.
This documentary follows volunteer nurses and physicians from Canada and the US as they struggle with cultural differences, language barriers, and suboptimal working conditions in an aging hospital as they both care for patients and teach local nursing students and surgical residents. The advanced state of disease they encounter in these patients occasionally thwarts their best efforts, and they reach the limit of what is possible to cure with surgical intervention.
For the volunteers of Filipino heritage, this journey is a return to their roots, driven by their personal experiences with poverty and desire to share the good fortune they now enjoy in the United States and Canada. First-time mission volunteers are overwhelmed by the gratitude expressed by their Filipino patients, something sadly lacking in their regular jobs in North America.

Large, hairy, bipedal anthropoid beings were described in the ancient legends of the indigenous people of British Columbia long before "Bigfoot" became a phenomenon in popular culture. The Bukwus (male sasquatch in Kwakwaka'wakw) and D'sonoqua (female version) appear in carvings and dance as well as folklore. Native Watchman Tom Sewid talks about his personal encounter with the Bukwus, "The Wil...

Funny as a small child there were so many old people around me, wanting to tell me stories that I had no interest in. But thank God 50 and 60 years later I still remember a good portion of them and wish I could remember more. Which makes me love a video like this.

To me what this guy says makes sense. If a Sasquatch or Yowie or whatever is carrying on in a angry way then leave it alone and get out of there. Yet, maybe it is showing signs of playing, by throwing small stones and not big rocks, then it might be time to offer some apples or something. It,s the same with humans, very hard to calm an aggressive human down but get them at the right time friendly relations are a lot easier.

Sasquatch/Bigfoot/whatever you wanna call them are REAL!!!. Theres alot in B.C, Canada near Joffre Lake. The U.S Army Corps of Engineers in 1975 officially recgonized "Sasquatches". Search it, theres actually a page in the "Environmental Atlas of Washington" on these....close minded people will still debunk this, smh

@Mykel Greene Correct, not Ape... from Scott Carpenters book the DNA that was tested came back as.. Devonian, Neanderthal, AND..... Lemur DNA.... I would guess it was from the now extinct Giant Lemur. I would bet anything that is where they get their “ Sagittal Crest” from. The female side is human DNA.

this is a wonderful and fascinating video that deepens further my interest in and respect for the traditions and people who developed these boats. I have just finished building a different design of skin-on-frame kayak and found that a far more deep and engaging process and result than just buying a commercial kayak. Thank you and thanks to Mitch Poling for generously sharing his story and knowledge.

ROTFLMAO!!! "Go on the internet", then even he starts laughing at his bs. "Probably didn't heed the warning"; way to get out of the hole you were digging man. Bigfoot killed them with hypothermia...LOL. That's Bigfoot's superpower. No local Native stories as to what happens if you don't heed "the warning". LMAO. Here he has the opportunity to share about his culture, instead he goes the commercial route to get more visitors there. What has this Country become?

I personally think he's wrong about what these are... they aren't an unknown primate. If you do real research on these beings you realize they are nothing like us or Apes. These things can step through dimensions that we can't sense. They are something that we have no comprehension of, some claim they are the Nephilim. There's some amazing info out there if you look deeper.

Ok buddy, and they can fly and live on the moon. I've also heard they have lasers come out of their eyes and can walk on water. It's far easier to believe in the irrational than it is to do the work and collect actual data.
