I can totally related throughout my primary schoo all way to high school graduation I was struggle with school alway failing even I did tutor for math and english math exam I alway fail I was not diagnoesed until I was in my final year of high school I went to school counsellor and special need head teacher did test I was diagnoesed with mild intellectual disabilty I was in shock and bit angry I got diagnoesed so lated in my final year of high school before graduation I told my 5 best friend who I was really close with they all in shock was still love me for who I am and accept me and my friend group they all shock as well and but still loved me and accept me for who I am throughout my school life I was struggling coming from asian vietnamese my parent and older sister would yell at me due my poor grade I was bully in high school with regular class my senior year final 2 year of high school some of my class subject they all extremely smart student here I am all my teacher love me and care for me and my tutor teacher for my math and english love me and accept me for who I am I was extremely jealous of my older sister,cousins and family friend I alway in their shadow of achievment they smart but they all said fuck what they said don't listen them you are you I insecure I not smart or talented I would achieve anything my parent brag about them I want the attention but I alway put aside

I was in special need classes all middle and high school I had some teachers be so nasty one gym teacher named miss kanser even said I will never get anywhere in life she was a gym teacher in New Jersey parents please speak to your kids I never told on her but I wish I did so many evil teachers out there!!!!

Have you ever thought about writing a book about your journey? So many people would read ir because this topic is always under the radar. I am 43 with no college education and finding the courage to try to get my associates. The idea that i can't has always kept me from trying and your story gives me hope for myself. Thank you for sharing your story.

Congratulations! This was a well put together video, and I can relate A LOT to the personal journey you have faced. I have had a learning disability my whole life. I just graduated from college with my bachelor’s degree in English, and to say I am proud of myself is an understatement. I am also the first in my family to graduate from college. Originally, I wanted to be a High School Teacher. However, college taught me that teaching is simply not a strong fit for me. I was very involved in college: I was a Resident Assistant in the residence halls for 3 years, I was a peer-mentor for first-year students and first-generation students, attended conferences, etc. I truly made the most of my undergraduate experience. Because my involvement was so meaningful for myself and others, I have decided to pursue my masters in college student personnel. I plan to work in residence life, academic support & counseling, and diversity/inclusion initiatives with a focus on first-generation student development. I am so excited to begin graduate school! As you can relate most likely, it has been a long journey. But, I see light and hope. I am eager to work with residential students as a Graduate Assistant (GA) At my Alma-mater while beginning my graduate studies. I wish you the best!

Hi. I have a very low undergraduate GPA of 2.3 due to an illness and a medical issue (wrong medication) that caused me a physical disability during my undergraduate years. Then I earned a Master's degree with a 3.5 GPA, a 750 GMAT, 10 years of work experience, 2 years of fundraising for UNICEF and other NGO I also published research in a scientific journal. My goal is to apply to Business School for the PhD, what are my chances? I really appreciate any advice you can provide.

That’s one thing that God is going to do! If God sees that you are idolizing other things and not prioritizing him as number one, he will make sure that you do prioritize him or at least make it pretty tempting not to! They say he is a jealous guy oh yes, believe them. Lol.

I just got accepted into a masters program to hopefully become a community college counselor! As a transfer student, I hope to help those who are in the position I was in not too many years ago. I appreciate the open and honest conversation about your burnout and experience within the last few months but contrasting it with all the great times you’ve had. Hey, i found out i have a learning disability now in my 30s. I did suffer a lot in high school. I still struggle to learn everyday stuff. Adult everyday stuff like insurance, shopping ect... I suffer in relationships because i feel people think i am dumb. So i isolate myself and that makes me depressed because i like being around people but people dont understand. Im pretty lonely now. I only have my 3 children. Thats it.

I have ADHD and undiagnosed dyslexia and my school made feel like I was stupid

Outfits: my favorite was the jean jacket which will pair well with a strapless maxi dress on cool evenings. The lime green sweater will make yoyr skin tone pop! Loved the stripe halter; so many ways to wear it. My absolute favorite was the work bag. I'm constantly switching out my work bags as i get bored or i increase or reduce what i carry to work. Job hunt: Please take in stride and give yourself some grace. The most important thing for now is that you are employed and gaining experience in a part time position. You touched on a great point about diversity hiring males--especially of color--as there aren't many male counselors in higher education. The affirmative action nay-sayers thought the hiring practice was going to end hust because the court said so? Nah. Anyway, continue networking, going to profressional conferences paid by employer or out if pocket, and if you haven't already, check the the TH-cam channel Life After Layoff. He's a former reruiter, and he gives great tips on navigating through the job hunt arena. The right job will come in due time. Living at home: i really wish i could live at home. As long as your family is not tripping and you don't add any kids to the mix--use that time to stack your money and pay off bills while contributing to the household because honeyyyyyy, rent prices out here are illegally high! Straight up highway robbery. 🛣 💰 Best wishes to you and please ignore trolls. 🙄

Your story is admirable, and i can see how difficult it was for you. However for all those out there commenting they have a learning disability, i just want to say you have it wrong and this is classed as a Learning Difficulty, which are completely separate. I’m also not being mean i just wanted to leave a comment if anyone else sees this video, just to educate as I’m very passionate about learning disability’s and myself am a learning disability nurse, and i don’t doubt your journeys are all very difficult, but it is not an LD:) A learning disability is not something you can overcome, it is onset 18 years old, and it is caused by severe cognitive impairment, to be classed as having a learning disability it has a very strict criteria, if you have an LD you will be unlikely to read and write above very minimal low grades or not at all. You will also struggle to function with understanding everyday concepts, and likely unable to live independently without some form of support from either parents, family or carers. It is something you will never overcome and that will never improve, but you can be supported. People with an LD won’t have any qualifications in GCSE etc and definitely will be unable to complete a degree of any form. You must also have an IQ below 70, so anyone who can navigate computers etc will not have an LD. Learning difficulties however, you are able to overcome and improve those, learning difficulties include things like dyslexia, adhd, developmental delay due to environment and circumstances. They are what can hinder your learning and education and can cause you to struggle in society, but it is not a disability.

I have learning disabilities too and also I am slow learner been difficult to get an job I am 23 😢. I failed many classes in college and financial aid stop because i had very bad grades. I couldnt become successful in college and i don't have an job in 23

Love this vlog!! I, too, am in a waiting season, staying in prayer with the Lord about the things I’m waiting for helps me to continue in patience. Three of my four children are special needs, ranging from Autism to ADHD and Sensory processing disorder. You inspire me as a 40 year old mom. It was hard to get them all help. I'm bipolar myself and ive known since my oldest son was 8 months that he was autistic and after switching school districts and getting new doctor's and therapists and specialists, he was finally diagnosed at age 13. Made me angry but knowing what I know now about myself and oldest son, it made it easier to get my other two sons diagnosed within a matter of months. I always said my oldest walked so my youngest two could run. Love you. ❤ 💋

I also have a learning disability (auditory processing disorder), primary school was a struggle for me, thankfully my learning disability was caught early on and my mom was proactive, now I am in college pursuing a bachelors degree-and have obtained my associates degree in political science, I have learned overtime what learning style works for me and utilize all the skills taught to me!!!! Dont doubt yourself and don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask for clarification, also don’t try to remember the text book definition for subject, make it make sense to you!
