Stationed there from 1969 to 1971, Schloss Caserne is almost unrecognizable.Looks like Companies A,B,and C barracks for 16th Signal Battalion have been torn down. Wonderful memories.

When you reached Altdorf I was really hoping you would take a left into town so I could see where I used to live. I have great memories of driving my motorbike on the B3 from Lahr to Altdorf, and many other Schwarzwald roads.

I drove this road many a time between 1984 and 1988 I was posted to CFE Lahr.....I miss Deutschland and Schwarzwald Greatly....Beautiful Poeple, Country, and Traditions, and of course the beers and schnaps......Thank you for The Memories Travel and Adventure.

I lived there in 85-88. My Dad was stationed in Frankfurt. I loved living there. Sadly the school and military apartments we lived in are all gone. I loved the little shops and the fountain in Butzbach

War auch in Venedig, aber die Stadt war voll von Touris. In den Gassen kam man kaum voran. Obwohl es viel zu sehen gab war ich froh, wieder wegzufahren. Und ganz ehrlich möchte ich nicht mehr dahin.

hab ich genau so auch gemacht, traumhaft!!!!

Germany has remarkably few (if any) highways with 4, 5 or 6 lanes per direction.

Everybody prefer german autobahn its wide and really good quality build and most important no speed limit, only in Germany.

You stopped the video twice right before you turned the Korner from kaserne Strasser to schloss Strasser and again when you were walking back on the kaserne Strasser. This should have been of importance because of the wall and building. I lived in that last right house and it was the base limit when the Americans were stationed there. I used to look out the back window from my bedroom on the third floor and see them blowing there horn at the beginning and end of each day. They made a song sound. I just don't remember the name of it. Sad. There was also a wall.behind me. I have so many stories. Our first home was torn down. It was on the of the mainstream and where you started the video if you had turned around you would see the large train station ad if you'd turn the camera more to the left there is a hotel. Our house was between those two.

I was stationed in Butzbach from November 1973 to November 1977. I loved the town. I could take the train to Frankfurt and be there within 45 minutes or so. Frankfurt is awesome. The Manhattan of Germany IMO.
