Making plans for my spring floral page, roughly sketching out my Bluebells with Inktense pencils ready to stitch over with thread. Sharing my completed Woodpecker themed project bag. Cathe Holden for Moda fabric designed the fabric adverts I'm using and the beautiful book I was inspired by was Jo Browns The Secrets of Devon Woods - My nature journal. Which is an absolutely stunning book.

The finished (I think) first page for my field notes journal, although I may go back and add more stitching to the flower petals and leaves. I've added more texture to the page using garden twine and also movement using thread to the roots of the bulb (my favourite part).

Won’t the pencil be seen through the embroidery?
Hello Tina, The dry pencil won't show through the back. However, if water is applied to Inktense, it very likely could show and also cause the color to softly bloom on the front. My very first slow stitch piece is proof. I had paper towels handy so I was able to blot and dry the front successfully. It did bleed through the back and I did blot and dry there as well. The back didnt show through the front. They are called Inktense for a reason😊 I love working with them!
Hi Tina, in this project I've used the pencils dry and if a little of the colour shows through the stitching I'm ok with that as it adds to the depth of colour and it won't be running anywhere. Like Susan I love Inktense because you can control (to a degree) where you want the colour to be, and how intense. :)

Hi there, yes it was a bookbinding tape and super sticky. The glue I used was also a book binding glue 😃🌻🌻🌻

Where did you get the butterfly, and book page and ledger page fabric from? I really love those and would like to add them to my collection.
I'm in the Uk and got the Art Journal Fabrics by Riley Blake from www.sewhot.co.uk/ I got them last year so not sure what they will have left. Otherwise you could try googling them. They are gorgeous and worth hunting for. Good luck. :)
