This is actually really cool !! I bought the same brand a year ago only mine is the 12 set. But I can definitely try this technique for myself !! I also have Pentel but those are not creamy and are so hard to work with so I was about to give up on using them ( and oil pastels) all together for background coloring and buy soft pastel instead, since they're much easier to use. But I will definitely try this out !!!

Linger does have color names, at least mine do.

i don't know if you ever tried mixing your gelatos with soft pastels and some matte medium, it creates the most beautiful blends!!! i really enjoyed watching you test your supplies and hearing the enjoyment in your voice!😍

Please finish this with detail of color pencil!! I have the king art 72 which has metallics as well but im dying to see pencil over these??? I just can’t imagine that working?? I also don’t understand how you can color over it without it smearing, but man your work is beautiful ❤

I haven't yet seen these books in person but the appealing thing to me is the fact that there is a narration to it as you turn the pages! In general, most coloring books that don't really click with me are those with just random individual scenes. And I'm not super inspired to color them in the end of the day!!

Satin Glazing Liquid by Golden would have less grit and give the page slight texture, but with a good coloring book like Johanna Basford or Hanna Karlzon or Kerby Rosanes not sure it is really needed. I will have to test it out.

Excellent information on this product. I'm going to try my first background with this same brand and your video was a huge help on what these can do/how they perform. Do you spray your background with a fixative before moving to the subject or does the Gamsol keep the oil pastels from smearing?

She turned out beautiful. I really love coloring grayscale. To me it seems like that gray base color really makes your colors pop and look more vibrant when it’s finished.

I'm having trouble what kind of colours to use because those grey and black shades are so strong and the print plus paper are not easy for different media to stick.
