I moved and lived there most of 2009. It was a fresh start for me and my friend that had kin in different parts of town. A few months on Coeburn Rd, the rest of the time in a run down apartment building across from the court house. I loved the land, nature. The people for the most part were alright, I met several lifelong friends there. I was warned by many that I needed to be aware of who knew about me ( lesbian), it wasn't accepted much.. It is what it is. I kept to myself, worked at pizza hut, smoked a lot of pot lol and was ready to move by october.. Small towns aren't my thing, I came from columbus ohio lol. But miss the area in the sense of the homey feel when I did encounter a friendly face, the drives, and all night fires. Love to all ☺

On my way back to Clintwood tomorrow, been 22 plus years and looking forward to it. Still a few of my Mullins left down there. Always good memories

We used to live near Eagle Rock and I worked at East End Shops in locomotive dept. Always loved the Roanoke area. Still go to Roanoke on occasion. Have plenty of good memories of the area and outlying communities. Been to a couple concerts while living there and Bible conventions at the now Berglund Center.

I have been living in Roanoke for 6 years. Being born and raised in NYC it is much different but I have grown to love it. This is a beautiful city.
