Topwater Fishing in the Rain!

Rainy days are some of the most fun to go fishing in, especially when you are getting fish to blowup on topwater lures. Adding a kayak just makes it even more enjoyable!

Fishing a Man-made WATERFALL for Smallmouth Bass!!
Salmon for sure . Deep forked tail
This place is a zoo and not my idea of peaceful fly fishing.
Thank you my boy
The beginning is in bondsville
I fished this river 25 years ago. I just recall tons of fish but also tons of fishermen.
Are those minoes
People trying to keep a literal STOCKED river thats right infront of a hatchery? Thats just wild. Theres a god damn list online if everywhere that gets stocked and yall tryna keep it “secret”? 😂😂
That looks like below the bonsville dam ???????
the rock formation is a fish trap an ancient form of one a salmon yes
I EAT my natives.Spring fed river. My secret place.
Can you still fish the in summer
Mantap jos❤❤
My fun spot 1:47 was the middle branch of the Swift River in New Salem.
Hello, I live here at celebration and I can’t catch any bass! What type of bait are you using or recommend for these ponds? Thank you
💞Wow💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💜
Just fish for chrissake. Filming this shit is cringe. Also don’t fish redds. JFC
Not even close. If they stopped stocking and closed it to fishing while the brookies spawn. Maybe.
Fishing over spawning fish. Best to leave them alone.
truly the end of an era
😂😂
Awesome fish! Congratulations! Glad you shared
This is awesome! Come back anytime!
I’ll forever choose the Deerfield over this place but still a great body of water
This particular part of the river (I won’t name it in case you’re trying to conceal it, despite the dozens of guys there on an hourly basis lol) is always kind of a hassle. You have that horrible rock wall on one side and residential banks on the other. Finding a spot to get down, especially in waders, is like 😬. It’s worth it though. It’s away from those “above the bridge” crowds and the fish are enormous. Last year I caught my biggest bow of the season on this stretch and it was a BRUISER…steelhead-like. The one caveat is that I wouldn’t consider this to be the best trout river in Massachusetts. The Deerfield River and the Millers watershed are my go-to’s when I wanna have a “no questions asked” good day. That whole area gives me at least a dozen double digit days per season and there are some KILLER native brookie tributaries if you’re willing to do a bit of legwork and research.
For anyone wondering.... this is the Famous Swift River in belchertown. great place to catch your first stocked trout lol
if you know you're way around
Mostly giant wild browns
The greatest river in Ma but what is it?
You seem like a nice young fella, so I'll skip over the abuse that others gave you for fishing over redds, but your fish handling could use a little work, i.e., don't handle fish, at all, in the fall! It's C&R everywhere after Oct., 1st everywhere I know of, use your net, take a photo/video of the fish in the net, and release. You don't want to stress a fish, especially one that's pawning. Also, become familiar with the different spawning seasons for trout, for example, BT, fall; RT, spring; LLS, fall. Remember, it's your generation that's the stewards of the environment, make us proud.
Yes that generation. Im sure he gives a $hit
nice manbun
Where do you find that location is it by the trail im going there tmr
Hey bro, I'll be in town soon, do you want to collaborate
Ahhh, the infamous "YesNOOOO!!" I am all too familiar hahaha
What’s the name of this river and where is it or is it a secret
Yeah so, I was less than 5 minutes in and I had to shut this kid off.i couldn't take listening to him at all.he is just a annoying boy that thinks he knows everything. 👎👎
There’s meth addicts that fish that spot and there is someone living in a tent, spot has become a dump
Great video and great fish! I just subscribed….I started my own TH-cam fishing channel a couple of months ago and I really enjoyed your video. Keep up the good work!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm glad you enjoyed! 😂
Rookies
Yup, I let this kid know in my comment. Check it out, straight to the point.
What's wrong with that? Were you born experienced or did you also start as a rookie and then learn? People have to start somewhere
@@kurthvonneguth we all start as rookies for sure. Some "googans" decide to pimp rivers for views. These are those guys.
@@Jon626who tf cares lmfaooo it’s just a river
Those brookies you stumbled upon that were hanging together in the shallows were likely spawning. The one thing to look out for this time of year is clean patches of finer gravel (which it appears they were on). Those are redds and they hold the future of wild fish. There are certain stretches of the Swift that I entirely avoid after mid October for this reason. I don’t target spawning fish myself but I would never judge those that do. In my opinion, the only thing that truly matters is avoiding the redds while wading.
LOL...these guys are beginners apparently.
What’s wrong with that?
And?? What? I’ve never been fishing in my life they’re teaching me 🤷🏾♂️ if you’re more experienced why dont you make your own f ing video?
This is a great video wth you talking about??? We all learn btw!!
Suggestion don't keep playing with the trout, if you are going to release them then take your picture and release them back into the river otherwise you damage them by manhandling them over and over!!!!
It is so good that you didn’t say the name of the stream. So many native trout waters have been totally destroyed by TH-cam.
Awesome experience! Thanks for sharing!
what river?
There is only like 3 or 4 ish rivers in mass and 2 would die off if it wasn’t for man
Awsome fish, you can catch and eat in certain spots
They turn red in the fall
I love that gem
Was this your first time fishing?
Where is this?
if that guy was keeping fish it is illegal. The only time you can keep fish from the swift is between January 1st - July 1st, besides those months its strictly catch and release
all swift river brook trout are wild they do not stock them
Please put the fish back in the water
