Can you tell use how you got that cover off? I took all the bolts out of it, but the cover will not some off and the only thing that might be holding it is the cord, bit even it has a place where the cord can move through the plastic housing.

If I remember correct, it was just the bolts. Make sure there is not one hidden bolt that keeps you from taking it off.

The Yucatan are expensive, but almost every single review I've seen of them (including this one) has been positive. Have you worn either Teva or Chaco? The Yucatan have a similar look to the Katavi 2, although they don't really feel the same.

Folks, plenty of people with this original model had this problem. I did too. This is the Rigid model OF60150HA, and they released a newer version at some point, model OF60150HB, which has a solid pipe from the pump head to the tank connector. Those of you with the newer model won't suffer this problem. I had the same issue. At first it just seemed to be taking a long time to pressurize the tank to the shut off pressure. Then it began running continuously and would only build up about 40 to 50 PSI. I would be working on something and suddenly become aware of the long runtime and run to the compressor to turn it off. I decided to finally take the casing off to find out if it was something I could fix. I also came here to TH-cam to see if others had a similar issue. Sure enough!! In looking at mine to come up with a solution, I noticed that the copper tube from the pump head was poorly shaped. The blunt end of it where the flex hose is attached was angled slightly upward. The other end of the flex hose connects to the tank connector which is at an appropriate upward angle. My flex hose tore at the upper connection. What I realized is that the upward angle of that copper tube puts undue stress on the flex hose while the device is running as there is a tremendous amount of vibration inherent in one-cylinder motors such as this. The vibration, as well as the heat that the copper tube absorbs from the pressurized air, stresses the flex hose to the point of rupture, and pressure is lost. Using pliers, I carefully bent the existing crimp fastener enough to slide the flex hose off the copper tube. I then sliced off about an inch of the damaged hose. Using gloved hands, I gripped the copper coil and rotated it with the intention of tightening the diameter of the coil and aiming the open end of the tube toward the tank connector. The idea was to create a flex hose connection that was not under stress. This worked well, as I moved the open end of the copper tube a little more than an inch. I also cut about an inch of the torn flex tube and used a small screw clamp like Mr. Greenwood did to fasten the freshly cut end of the flex hose. A secondary problem is that I noticed a lot of heat buildup around the pump and motor. When I took the casing off to inspect the pressure problem, I then realized the fan blades had all sheard off due to poor design and manufacturing. A number of the little plastic fan blades fell out of the case as I removed it, and it made me realize I've been finding these little blades all over my yard and inside my shed. I never knew what they were from! I think the newer model has the same cheap plastic fan. I've looked everywhere - it's not available for replacement, which is ridiculous. I ended up spending hours designing my own contraption using IntelliCAD (I'm an Architectural Designer) which I printed on paper, taped that to a sheet of aluminum I bought from Home Depot and cut the new fan out using tin snips. I removed the plastic fan hub from the electric motor shaft, and drilled holes in the hub so I could use tiny bolts and nuts to put the whole thing together. I'm happy to report it is very efficient! My compressor is running so fast and cool these days. Rigid, I have a fan design I'm happy to sell you. 😜😜

I am having this exact issue with a "Fortress" 6 gallon 175 psi pancake air compressor. The identical copper with the loop and the barb going into the tank. Same hose and mine has a 5/16 ID which has been impossible to replace so far. I blew a hole through a black hose just like you did and even when the hose was long enough to cover the bumps on the copper tube it was actually the first side to pop off. I thought it would be fine but then the other side blew off and I really should have returned it when The first one did. After watching more of these videos i have seen others that have a one piece tubing instead of the barb and the copper loop. I am not sure how important having the loop is but i was told it was for expansion. I appreciate you sharing this and hopefully i can get mine working as well.

My compressor starts working and builds pressure up to 150psi but sometimes during work it will not start and won't keep tank charged. Sometimes it turns on only for a few seconds then goes quiet. Sometimes I hears something that it wants to start like air going somewhere through the pipe for about 2 second and then quiets and stays like that. Fails to keep up pressure in tank when I use it. Pressure goes low as 50psi but compressor doesn't start. Then I had to open drain valve to release remaining air pressure in the tank. Disconnect it from AC power for few minutes and it starts working again build up to 150psi again. I don't hear any air leaks. What could be wrong?
