This truck was pulled out of the woods and we ripped the hell out of it. We love the sounds. It makes the power too. Nothing compared to the new stuff, but it still does the job.

@@RipperCentralAhhh, you must be one of them. Was wondering how long it would take to ruffle a feather. Almost exactly the response I was expecting. It's no different than the motorcycle/cars that fly down our road at 100+. It's all fun & games until something crosses your path. Unfortunately on water it's harder to see due to the glare and the fact that 50% of the time the bow is blocking your view at high speed. Hopefully the pilot is paying attention the other 50%.

Oneida Lake is basically 25 miles is and the run leaves Sylvan Beach NY to Brewerton for a kick ass lunch and then back. Since the majority of the recreational boating season is over it gives clear course to let it rip.

That's not a supercharger on that 6-71. It's the blower. Being a 2 stroke, there isn't an intake valve. When the cylinder is at BDC, a port ont he side of the bore is exposed. The blower pushes air in, which pushes the exhaust out of the exhaust valve in addition to bringing in the intake air. Combination of the intake and exhaust stroke. It isn't really a supercharger. The engine wouldn't run at all without the blower, there woudl be no way to get the intake air into the cylinder. That being said, a 6-71 and 8-71 supercharger for a gas engins is a modified version of the Detroit Diesel blower. But it's not the same thing that's on the diesel engines.

this is sick, i love old detroits like this, 6-71s from these days were very good motors, very smooth, the only bad thing about these non turbo motors was they had to be run all the way to governor to make any kind of power, so run it out till it stops revving then shift, these made more horsepower then torque im sure you already knew this tho lol
