Hello Guys, Just wanted to create a video overview of my 2001 bmw 740i LS Swap project that i have going on.

They’re the same size.. ls1 isn’t as good but still fun!

Any ls would fit, ls9 might not Shit you could put an Ls/LT in a Miata

Well done on this, the comments also make us aware that there are some really knowledgeable car people out there, the E38 is easily one of my favourite cars but have run an E36 for over 25 years now and she is just so wonderfully reliable, would not part with for anything. Thanks for this posting and good luck with plans for future of this superb car.
Nice job! I would just check the routing on the catch can and just know you could make the drive by wire work with the terminator x max, all you need is the DBW harness. I did it on my e36 with a pedal out of an x5 but I’m sure your original pedal would work.
Yep catch can still needs attention. I will be making another update video here soon but we are going turbo so the catch can situations gonna change as well. The plan is to convert back to bmw DBW pedal and tie it into the Holley system, seems like best option for the 8hp
What headers were used on this swap?
If you’re on e38 empire I think we’ve talked before. I sold my e38 but always say I’ll get another one but it’ll be LS swapped. Kudos

I am about to start tackling the same build. Did the 4L80e fit pretty easily or did you have to make some room for it to fit, if that makes any sense?
No, the 4l80 fit pretty good. no huge modifications
The Germans should REALLY LISTEN to Us the Russians & Americans cause we both seem to purchase these Great automobiles but changing out their engines with the LS engines BECAUSE U IDIOTS KEEP OVER ENGINEERING EVERYTHING…… this car is 1 million times better with the American LS ENGINE -

No, im either gonna run a Turbolamik or a sound german controller

@@200saluma i think im gonna go with a Sound german controller since they are local to me and specialize with Dodge TCM 8hp70s.
Turbolamik is the best who swaped 8hp to BMW in Poland 👍 I have e38 740 with 8hp 😊

No real kits available for the E38 platform. Just piecing the swap together as I go!
