Paul-Agricole Génin: Carnaval de Venise, Op.14 (Soyoung Lee)
Of the professional recordings of this piece-that I can download and use-this particular recording by Soyoung Lee is the best. I think this piece is a little silly, but in the best way possible. As in: it's ridiculously difficult and technical, but I think the variations are a bit funny (esp. variation 8 at around 13:00). When I listen to it, I get the sense that Génin forged this piece on the ...

I'm continuing to follow the contours of IMSLP's "difficulty rating" to discover new pieces. This has been labelled a "Level. 12" in difficulty-the most difficult-for the French horn. Note, that the score differs slightly from the recording in various places-most obviously ...

The difficulty ranking is suggested by users and then voted on, giving the piece what I presume is a holistic evaluation of its difficulty, in whatever shades they may be. This particular set (specifically No. 2 Rondino) i...

Kreisler: Londonderry Air (Perlman, Kreisler)
Perhaps one of the most stunning traditional folk songs, these two distinctive renditions of the Londonderry Air (Farewell to Cucullain) by Perlman and Kreisler are beautifully lyrical, profound, and moving in their own ways. Apologies for the last image of my own improvised score; for some reason Kreisler does not play what he has written! 00:00 - Perlman 04:32 - Kreisler

An die Heimat - 00:00 Der Abend - 05:35 Fragen - 10:05 A wonderfully expressive and at times sensitive set of three pieces by Brahms. In listening to various different recordings to accompany the score, this recording is quite good, but I in my view the opening piano can be too detached and at times too intense. A recording by the Rastatt Vocal Ensemble is much smoother and brighter in my view ...

Very inventive, I think the four seasons overshadows too many of these pieces
Haydn had the secret to Art, the first movement is already in Romantic world.
I can really hear Schubert in the first piece on closer listening.
Haydn really had the secrets of Music.

❤
The second movement is close to Bach or Mozart in terms of polyphonic content and energy in the frenzied pulsations of Mozart's 40th Symphony.
The second movement has many Beethovenian characteristics.
can you please share the score?
AMAZING performance! It makes my day so much better! Thanks ❤🧡💛💚
I just love this kind of music
As conceptual music it's interesting. But artistically it's horrible.

Beautiful voice 😍
Mozart has always been my favourite composer, his music was always happy. This is one of my favourite pieces to listen to, who could ever be sad listening to this spirited joyful music? God gave us some very wonderful talented people who left their mark on the world and we who come some hundreds of years later are blessed to be able to enjoy their talent.
I’m learning this on violin right now. It’s so beautiful
I’m learning Mazurka I mean
😢 Heartbreakingly sweet.
33a and b are amazing-chains of melody in all voices and full of explosive passages as well as delicate ones
These pieces are really beautiful. Sibelius is one of those composers who, like Brahms, has a great sense of organic structure and form even in short scale little pieces like these. It’s never just simple ternary form with two contrasting sections. You always get smooth transitions and never feel like the material is being repeated over and over just to fill a structural template
Amazing piece! It sounds like being haunted/stalked by a killer, who then brutally kills you and the killer feels a sense of relief, there's a lot of tension and release as well. People saying this piece is bad have no imagination or ability to listen thoroughly.
Wait this piece ends with the Mario (bVI-bVII-I) progression!
Whoa I didn't even know this existed!

I’m playing the rondo in class tomorrow
This was what I would hear on the radio every Sunday morning when I would listen to the show "Cynic's Choice" which was my introduction to British comedy
I think this is Brahms' closest piece to Mendelssohn-the tunefulness, the exuberance, the virtuosity.
I'm reminded of the finale of Beethovens 3rd symphony when listening to the minore section of the Rondo, surely Beethoven knew this trio
The second** minore section
1:06
There's a cut between 2:05 and 2:06
This is a monster of a concerto!!! A late gem!
The Allegretto is absolutely stunning and without precedent
I played this Rondo for my final piano exam in high school many years ago. Great to hear it again
can you give a piano only part?
A real synthesis of modern art...: a real Scam. No musical talent is necessary to "compose" this... Zero.
mid opinion
@@handsomeduck6791 horrible music
@@gabrielgabriel8096 art is objective
"No musical talent is necessary to "compose" this... Zero." Brother, I understand not liking the music (I don't like the sound of it personally), but to say it takes no musical talent is crazy. Look into the writing of twelve-tone music (by Schoenberg, which this piece is based on), because it definitely requires knowledge and compositional talent, even if it doesn't provide nice-sounding results
@@gabrielgabriel8096shit opinion, this piece produces emotions of fear, it's like being stalked by a killer on a dreary night, your opinion sucks and you just don't have imagination.
Possible inspiration for Brahms Cello Sonata 1?
It is actually, you can search for it
Just ran across the unbelievable gem. Otherworldly in its perfection. Thanks for posting!

Schumann and Bartok have one feature in common: they were dissatisfied with their first violin/piano sonata, so they wrote a second one. Today, we do not share the two composers' opinion.
Just finished the first movement. I always feel, as much as I like his music, the first movement gets strained and even shrill from time to time. But here he avoids that. Really beautifully realized.
Hey glad to see another upload! Just to know, do you have discord?
