22:00 This is a heck of a good point. I've never used either. But I've seen, and understand, how to produce music on the Fantom. So I've already decided that I'm getting a Fantom. But for Montage, I rarely ever hear anything about its sequencer. And what I've seen, it is not for me. Seems like a sweet workstation though.

Hi, thank you for your video! To get the most of flexibility, I would like to suggest this kind of routing : All the outs from the keyboards are permanently connected to the up row of one (or more) patchbay that is set in the “normalling” mode, so that the up row (OUTS) of the patchbay is always connected (internally) to the lower row (INS). The lower row is also permanently connected to the ins of the Ferrofish, meaning that the keyboards go straight to the interface/computer without patching anything and not wasting time (and inspiration…) to do that. But, for some reason, or for a specific purpose, you wish to send a keyboard signal to an effect/processor, you simply patch only that outs to the ins of the device and with a second patch you can now go from the device outs to the ins (lower row of the patchbay) that take to the Ferrofish. Using the patchbay in normal mode, you don’t have to worry of too many cables, and if needed you have the opportunity to have a specific signal path. I think this could be very useful, even if at first may sound complicated..😊 What do you think about ?.. thank you. p.s. I forgot to mention that also the effects/processors ins and outs have to be routed to tha patchbay, as it usual happens.

Super Super great review. Will go with the Fantom EX. Seems that i can step sequence in a similar fashion as I did with KORG based keyboards in the 90's.... I miss being able to create music that way directly on the board itself. I do however have the Roland FA 07 so adding the expandable EX will be a great addition.....plus i love the way it looks.....will still look great during studio and live performances. Thanks again for the sensational review.

Just bought the Nautilus. I’m a drummer, be patient haha. My looping an individual track worked before, now it won’t. Any suggestions? I’m guessing something deeper is not turned on? I have the Korg Trinity for 25yrs so I’m not completely new to this but … can you help?

Bro!! You ain’t never lied; that’s my 2nd all time favorite keyboard!! Nothing beats the almighty Kronos, but I do 70% of my productions with this…I have the 73 key with the Radias card installed AND the Radias module!! Korg’s sleeper board for real, but if you know, you know!

Dude you know I have a Nautilus 8 but I just got rid of my MODX+7 for an XF8. I’m much happier!!! No flimsy keys and I never used the new sounds any way! My XF8 sounds the same as the MODX!! I’m just making performances and user files all day and night. Yes, there is a SIGNIFICANT weight difference and a USB issue!🤣🤣 But I don’t care! I can still MIDI my NI MK3 for MKSensation patches (if I want). Having so much fun!! Feeling guilty cause I haven’t touched my Nautilus in a week😂

Hello Julius, thank you for these precious and very useful videos! Is it possible to build a drumkit with samples on your USB key (by putting song loops in .wav) and assign them to keys instead of kicks, snare etc? the goal being to be able to launch loops on the fly that read themselves and program a key that would stop them...

Like your video - Thank you. I pick the 88ex board. I play a KAWAI MP11 which has the absolute best piano action you can get. However it lacks music production so replacing it with the F8 which has very good piano action not as goos as the KAWAI but better than the Montage 8. The drawback compared to the Yamaha is does lack aftertouch response which I do not use much. I have played the 61 and 76 and was a little disappointed with the new bed Roland came out with. I am comparing it to my Jupiter 80 which is above my 88ex. The JP80 has some of the best key feel that Roland has produced. Anyone that has played the 80 knows what I am talking about. Not saying the Fantom 61 keys are not good but wish it had the feel of the JP80. Any of the Fantom keyboards yo really can’t go wrong. Love it!

Hi!!! Lot of tks for this video, this is very important for the kind of things I wanna do with this. But I got some questions that maybe you can explain. I want to use this with a controller, in order to play 4, 5 or 6 sounds or combis at a time, and what I wanna do is to assign a sounds to the controller (SL 88 by Studiologic) and assign this sounds to outputs 3 and 4 (or 5 and 6), then I send it to the mixer as if they were two differents keyboards. What about this? Could it work??

I wanted this from the moment I saw the ad on their site. Now, I have it and don’t know how to do much with it. I can’t figure out the rhythms and chord progressions. It just seems very advanced like you need a Batchelor of Arts in KORG Degree!! Lord have mercy.
