What's the worst business decision you've ever made - one you only realized was a grave mistake after paying the price? 🤔
For many years I made myself never say, "I'm sorry", because I believe that does further damage to the person who was wronged in the first place. I would come up with a unique appropriate reassuring sentence that fitted the bill instead. Now I just say "sorry" because that's quicker and because generally people do not understand the extra effort put in. I think this topic would come under the heading 'semantics'. Not a direct answer to your question, just my thoughts about it. Regina Spector song Loveology had something to do with my turn around, sometimes people need to hear the right thing.
That's really interesting, thanks for sharing! I had a former employer who didn't believe in I'm sorry and instead preferred action, but both are important, and accountability often ends the emotional side of the dispute. I always try to be specific with my apology (same with my gratitude) and say "I'm sorry for ___".

When talking to clients or prospects it's always better to show expertise. "I think we should post once a day" vs. "We recommend posting once a day"-- these statements have different impact.
