So the rh shape basically remains the same for the C and G chord; you just shift your hand up one key to the right and keep the same configuration…..I guess that means u go from a C6 to a G9?
Hi Fremulshmat... If you're talking about Riffipedia RH#5, yes... the RH plays EGAC (so, the A being the 6th, as you say); and goes to G chord FABG (with the A being the 9th, as noted by you - and the F being also a Dominant 7th thrown in to maintain that 'configuration') // As for Andalucia - where I am luckily escaped anything as traumatic as Valencia. Get in touch if any further queries! Gracias, Shukran,Teshekur, Danke schoen... www.danielsmithbluesband.com
Yes! In C the chord is E-G-A-C = C 6th / In F it's Eb-G-A-C = F dom7th+9th / In G it's F-A-B-D = G dom7th+9th. Let me know if any further queries! Thanks, www.danielsmithbluesband.com
Thanks, I found this tutorial to be very useful, I like the way you use a ‘system’ to vary the rh patterns that can then be adapted to different Keys. Hope the weather in Andalucia has not caused as much destruct as we have seen in Valencia on the news. 🤞
❤
Thanks Suzanne! Daniel
thank you so much, great tutorial :)
Hi @GeorgeMeszaros - Thanks for the comment! Don't have time to do as much as I'd like, but I appreciate other fan-players' comments. Happy improvising! Daniel www.danielsmithbluesband.com

This series is great, I'd love to see a return to it, it's really helped me out
@devilspawn4206 Many thanks! I'd love to dedicate more time to this, but, as with everyone... life's events and unpredictable vagaries eat up that precious commodity. However, watch this space and delighted my work may have been of some help in your boogie journey! Daniel
11:04 its that run down the scale, I still dont know 50 years later. any one else?
@@davidfarmer2049 Hello David, If you explain exactly which run-down you mean, I'll do my best to add explanatory detail via a further reply. Daniel Smith
??? Any will do. Great. Thanks.
I surprised at your question tbh the tutorial Ive watched is thought ful and insiteful of a learners needs. That question defo is not.
If I knew that would i be asking you?
Great video. Thanks for this
Many thanks! This series has, I feel, all the main ingredients I personally feel intrinsic to a compact, coherent, comprehensive blues piano number, and was designed as thus. Let me know if any queries IF and AS you work through it. Daniel
Hello, when playing octaves do you concentrate on one particular finger when you're moving upor down the keyboard? Should I concentrate on my little finger or on my thumb to be accurate? Many thanks
OK - Tricks Of The Trade (speaking personally) are... 1) Focus on your thumb 1st. Your 'pinkie' a]should be 'set' at an octave distance, like a gauge and b]is the weaker , less accentuated of the 2 fingers, should you hit a 'bum note'! Same for ASCENDING and/or DESCENDING runs. // 2)Use your index finger to SLIDE off a black-note diminished-5th onto the white-note 5th (bear with me here) every 3 or 4 'hits' of the piano. In blues-scale C, for example, playing octaves C Eb F F# G Bb C, you may try index-finger SLIDING F#>G when playing 8ve Cs, and index-finger SLIDING C#>D when playing 8ve Gs. /// Anything further, get in touch! Daniel pinetopsblues@yahoo.co.uk
Many thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it. Cheers

I LOVE this excellent tutorial! Nevertheless; adding some sheet music would be the icing on the cake! I guess, I'll have to watch your video some more hundret times to see which keys you are playing.

Great
I noticed on this video you play chords on the beat 4and but on video part 1 you play the same chords on beat 3 ? Im confused
Jeff, You're absolutely right! Sincerest apologies! I'm so focused on the notation on those Dom7/9th chords in "Part 1 Explained", I inserted them too early (Beat3) in the INTRODUCTION, as well as the subsequent deming bars 5-6 F and 7-8 C (but not 11 - 12 C!). Nevertheless, I'd suggest using the "Part 1 Explained" video as a notation guide ; and apply the "MODEL" video's rhythm & timing (the 'Beat4and' chord hits) to your actual playing of the whole piece. Please let me know if any further queries, thanks for pointing this out and apols again for any confusion. Daniel Smith www.danielsmithbluesband.com
Thanks for your reply, ive only starting playing the keyboard about 10 months ,teaching myself to play by watching you tube videos, i love the boogie woogie and blues, this the only reason i started this obsession to get better, anyway thanks again for your reply and im finding your videos a great help 👍
Jeff - Thank YOU for your reply to my reply! It's too important for me not to ensure any newly enthused pianist has all queries responded to. Please feel free to continue any boogie/blues piano dialogue with me via pinetopsblues@yahoo.co.uk... as I'd be more than happy to provide a few free tips and advice to continue your 'journey'. That's how I got started - in my case, an uncle. Good luck, Jeff, and thanks again. Daniel

Hey Daniel..i too was inspired by my parents to learn boogie and blues piano in the seventies..my father played trombone and drums..my mother was an oil painting artist and pianist also..they both influenced me with Lionel Hampton and Fats Waller so coming from classical training prior to this i found that i procured the dexterity i needed to change styles and likenesses..your art of blues piano improv was a large game changer for me..especially your breakdown of right handed chops in C..i love how you take the time to show it where it can be intricately conceived!..so far with millions of TH-cam tutorials..yours has caused diligence insight and more aggressive research for me..to which i am eternally grateful..im approaching intermediate to bottom line advanced playability but need more!..(craving!)i wanna start sitting in with some blues bands here in Spacecoast Florida..the other musicans frequently ask me to play in G blues and wish you could show me more about how to move around in that key a well as guitarists requesting E and A blues also!..guitarist seem to always wanna rule the roost!!..anyway keep on doing this if you can and all my keyboardist buddies have been notified about your lessons..thanks a bunch
Hey MDS, Many many thanks for your perceptive and gratifying comment! Well - if you, or anyone else, ever want some direct input via Skype / WhatsAapp / Zoom... do let me know! More than happy to assist... G, A, E... those pesky guitarists. But we can lick them with some cunning strategies and knowledge!
