I am here every...
I have watched other videos where they say to pull slight tension on screen as you roll the final 2 sides. So are you saing not only to not pull tension but also to leave slack? Is this correct? I will be putting solar screens on 3/4 frames soon. Trying to figure out the best method.
@@kevinwinkle8091 I do not pull tension. I let the screen pull itself
I once went to a diner that had about 40 big windows and they said they already have a guy so I asked how much he was charging and she said $30 ....I literally laughed at her and said nobody is doing this massive job for 30 bucks
@@Mr99RICH99 see it all the time. There is the right client and the wrong client I would say that’s the wrong client.
Great video What king of measuring jig is that does it have a name or any idea where I can buy one
I don’t think they make them exactly like this one anymore.
Joshua, needs to learn where to step on a roof tile so he doesn't break them / I watched where his boots stepped and it's NOT in the correct spot / after that he's not too bad / I'm a Lic. Rain Gutter installer since 1977 / I know what I'm doing. Notice he steps in the center of the tiles ( NOT THE RIGHT SPOT ) step toward the end of the tiles where the overlap is / it's a lot stronger at that spot.
Since this video I have actually learned from a licensed roofer after breaking and paying for many tiles! You are correct thank you for your feedback! 🫡
Have a question do you charge by how many windows or by square feet ,and also if is the same price for a two story and a 1 story, appreciate some advice.
I price per window and yes same for any floor. I would never charge by square foot because you will run into sun rooms and glass walls.
Hey, really nice job with the bow factor. I really failed miserably at my last effort. I had 4 sides bow in so bad it was sad. After seeing this video I’ll try again this weekend with new materials. Do you feel that the kits with plastic corner inserts can work fine as well?
From my experience the plastic corners only last about a year in the sun but they can be a temporary fix.
For a beginner I think you have done well!
For your miter saw blade, how many teeth does it have? Any recommendations on brands? Thanks!
Where do I go to join a networking group
How do you normally charge to make a screen labor only
For you I would say depending on how long it takes you should be making $150 per hour but this is just my preference. Everyone is different on this and it depends on overhead and location.
Thank you !!

Should the spline be facing the outside of the window after installation or should the spline be facing towards the inside of the house?
Spline should always face the outside
I personally prefer the spline to face the inside of the house, it’s more of a cleaner look & the spline will Not get brittle with the sun beaming down on it. My .02
@@FernandoRodriguez-ds5ri that is fine as far as preference but the design of the window screen is made to face out and pull tabs are on the inside to pull in from the inside of the window. When you get a new window from the factory that’s the way it comes but there is no wrong way that’s just how it is designed. 🫡
Hey Josh which sleeve is you favourite in 2024?
Ettore Golden Glove 🫡
@@JoshuaTheWindowCleaner Really? I thought Ettore Ettore Pro+ Microfiber was the best one from Ettore. Have you ever try it?
Hey bro hope you’re still replying to comments, how did you manage to get your maykker mini attatched to your belt? So cool I’ve never seen anyone do that! Please reply if you can I’ve been trying to figure that out forever.
I use the Sorbo belt and it has loops on it that I absolutely love! Durable and definitely my favorite belt that I’ve tried for so many reasons!
@@JoshuaTheWindowCleaner thank you bro!! Appreciate the response! Gonna get it right now lol
@@veautiful717 your going to love it use the biggest loop for your hip bucket
I think what was happening there was your pad was placed a little too high up on the plate... So just a tiny bit of the pad was catching the glass after the squeegee. Its happened to me before 7:03
Thank you for that tip!! 🫡
How can you tell which end the cap comes off? Does it matter which end?
It shouldn’t matter
Frustrating watching this stick an A-frame up and do it by hand
Thank you for your feedback! 🫡 just playing on the glass I normally use a 36 inch squeegee and straight pull but thank you!
Bonsoir Mes felicitations Est ce que je peux apprendre à frabriquer avec toi ce metier?
Thank you!
Would you go for the 10inch or 14 inch for domestic ? I wanted a 12 but it doesn't come in 12.
I would say 14in
No it should take you five minutes your not doing it right
That’s perfectly fine. 🫡 Good for you sir!
I’m working on starting a window cleaning business so I’m excited to learn from you
Great! If you have any questions let me know!
Where'd you get that hose reel?
Windowcleaner.com for the big hose reel and Amazon for the smaller one.
Hey man, found your channel and you’re a great resource! Will be binge watching all your videos and learning all I can 😊about
Awesome! Let me know if you have any questions 🤗
@@JoshuaTheWindowCleaner I shot you an email about that window scratch waiver. But another question I have is what would your advice be to someone starting up a window shade business? I live in Arizona so I know the market is prime here but what big things should I consider and do before starting to market myself?
@@luket6405 there is a contractor licensing for window coverings. I would recommend getting that first. I would get in good with glass companies and find a solid one that recommends you a lot and then recommend them also. Network in the community as much as you can if you want to be successful it’s all about community. Definitely get all your social media things in line first after licensing. Then network.
Where can I buy the pull tabs at the bottom of the frame?
We sell them if you need them email me. JoshuaTheWindowCleaner@gmail.com
Thanks for the video. Have a 2500 gas pressure washer. If I stand back further than you are do you think I would be kosher? Also, shouldn’t you re-grease the mechanical stuff up top since you got it wet, and degreaser more than likely got up there? 🤔 Found LAs Awesome (I think it’t called) from the $1.25 store 😂 works ridiculously amazing on vinyl siding! Saw it on the TH-cam 😂 so thought I’d try. Gonna use it when I do mine. Think it’s less likely to dry stuff out like Fast Lighting. 🤷
working for an electrical company as an apprentice they do solar and was thinking a little side hustle for extra money would be good this video helped heaps but atm that equipment is abit out of my price range
Pbsd😂
Shows how to count the 1/16" marks on tape measure, but not where to get measurements on window frame which is kinda the only part people have trouble with lol
Good idea! I’ll make a video explaining how to do that. This video is just how to build a window screen not how to measure to build a window screen. 👍🏼
@@JoshuaTheWindowCleaner Yes! How to measure the windows for replacement screens. There are several vidoes out there but I find them a bit vague.
@@tomtrowbridge2616 I am working on one now but there is many different windows the one I’m making now is standard in my area. I’ll be posting it tonight so stay tuned. Let me know your thoughts.
When you put the squeeze in does it nog damage the rubber?
No it does not
Ok thank you for the response
Thanks for sharing !!!
Thank you!
Nice! Thinking about doing something like window cleaning and screen repair to stay busy after retirement! Great video Joshua appreciate this 👌👏
No problem happy to help.
Nice
Hola gran demostración del poste , te quería consultar , cuánto mide ese cerrado y extendido al máximo ? Saludos desde Chile
It is not fully extended in this demonstration and there is different sizes
I was doing them today - but my always get bent in the middle- I don’t even pull the screen it’s even saggy in places but the frame bends in the middle
You want to bow the screen frame out so when you tighten the screen it will be straight.
In my area, one side of the screen tool is convex and used for setting the screen material in the groove prior to spline installation.
Have you ever built one on an angle? I'm trying to add panels for the gable of a screen porch but I can't find any connectors that are not 90 degrees.
Yes you will need adjustable corners. I have them if you need some email me. You will need 7/16 frame for them. JoshuaTheWindowCleaner@gmail.com
What is the black pole you are using?
It is a moerman pole that I don’t recommend. I was trying it out but after a couple months turned out not to be a good pole.
Great video! Thank you for sharing good, detailed information.
Thanks for watching!
where do you get those corners?
I am a supplier so I get them from my vendor.
@@JoshuaTheWindowCleaner where can I get them?
@@redsresearch I’m not sure in your location but I can ship some to you. How many do you need?
Good video mate. The most important thing you didn't mention that is a must ALWAYS check the glass manufacturer stamp to check for glass type before using a blade, because if you use a blade on tempered or toughened glass you're going to cause a lot of scratches.
Thank you for the video. I was wondering, when you "cutoff the little bit" why not do it at a 45 so you only need to do 1 more cut after that?
That’s actually what I started doing a few weeks after I made this video. I actually flip the frame over cut that piece off then flip it over again and slide it to the end and make the cut and that way I don’t have to even move the angle of the saw. 🫡
Thnx for the tutorial .
No problem!!
Great video! How many feet ladder is that
26 foot 🫡
Excellent video instruction ❤ !
Thank you!!
I was going to watch your video, but the I saw you filmed the whole thing in Portrait. If your that stupid as to Film in Portrait and not Landscape then that tells me you probably don't even know how to do a screen. Do you own a Portrait TV? NO! Do they make Portrait TV's?, NO! Have you ever seen a Portrait Movie Theater.?, NO! Then why would you do just the Opposite as the Normal World.?
Hey Josh, is your system to clean Solar panel cleaning is the same to use for Residential/Commercial window cleaning? Great video!
Yes it is! 🫡
My thought is to bend the entire rinse bar slightly forward to where the stream grazes the top bristles. Too often as I am scrubbing the very top of the glass and/or frame, the rinse bar is soaking down everything above it. It only bothers me when I'm struggling to avoid dirt streaks on the window when it dries.
That’s a good point!
Please what do you use in removing the cement properly before blowing it out
“Cement off” from Amazon works great
Judy subscribed bro 🔥🔥🙏
Thank you! 🫡
What rubbers do you use for your sorbos? I heard in a video you said master rubber but many say ettore master rubbers don't fit in them.
Ettore Soren Rubber works great!
