    You said it will happen again if we don't understand this, and it's already happening again, but people don't recognize it, because they don't understand the role that the population played in it. Hitler was preoccupied with both the occult and with psychology, he used trusted professionals like teachers, doctors, nurses, and others to get his agenda over, we studied how he did it in the Milgrim experiment, and we learned to do what they did. Here in America we are governed by a system that incorporates these tactics. People don't recognize what's happening, and neither do they care, because they've been demoralized. It's interesting to hear you present a general overview, but have you considered the social engineering that was involved in leading up to these atrocities? Have you considered the role of laws in what happened? Where their moral compass was and how laws were constructed to confuse morality? I have so many questions because I think about where we're going wrong, where it's leading to, and how to turn the world around. I guess we're on a similar objective, but maybe we go about it in very different ways. Thank you for the lecture.

      Oh and I know you're talking about Stalin, but he and Hitler were not so different, these monsters always use the same methods, they use kids to spy on their parents and community, they've been using kids for more than 2000 years, if you read the book of the Maccabees, the children were hung by their mother's necks and both were executed. It's a graphic description of what they did then, what Stalin and Hitler did, and what they are doing now. We studied Hitler's methodology, we didn't study Stalin, but the two are no different and that's why I referenced Hitler even though you were talking about Stalin. The same devil, same order, just different faces

    Eurasia 2024 Yahoo News Poroshenko says he is not allowed to attend Munich Conference over alleged threat to life Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk did not approve the delegation of former President Petro Poroshenko to the Munich Security Conference, citing alleged threats to his life abroad, Poroshenko claimed on Feb. 14, according to Interfax-Ukraine. The leader of the European Solidarity opposition party said he planned to meet Western leaders during the security-focused conference that will take place in Germany later this week. "The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (Ukraine's military intelligence agency, HUR), Kyrylo Budanov, for some reason informed Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk that immediately after crossing the Ukraine-Poland border, and in particular in Munich, I, as the fifth president and the opposition leader, will be in mortal danger," Poroshenko said at a press briefing after meeting Stefanchuk on Feb. 14. Poroshenko claimed that since German authorities would not be able to protect him during the visit, the only way to ensure his safety was to prevent his departure from Ukraine. euractiv/section/europe-s-east/news/former-ukraine-president-slams-zelenskyy-for-blocking-him-from-munich-security-conference/ "The Ukrainian press quoted Poroshenko, who was the president between 2014 and 2019, as saying that upon direct instruction from Zelenskyy, the Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk banned his travel abroad. He said that according to an official letter from the chief of the Military Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, to Stefanchuk, he was facing the danger of being assassinated in Munich and German security would not be able to prevent an attack. In written comments to Euractiv, Poroshenko denounced it as an attack on democracy."

    Ironically, she is herself a criminal. She supports fascist regimes; the latest being the one who hides behind the gold and blue flag. Being a "historian", she should be well aware of it. But she is a stooge for the US neocons (a docile stooge, a total sellout; that's why she won the Pulitzer, which is as meaningless as the Nobel Peace Prize, an instrument of propaganda) and a member of the NED, a regime-change outfit of the CIA, covertly (and not so covertly) interfering in democratic process around the world. So, obviously, her objectivity is highly questionable, to put it mildly. Fact is, she lies constantly in her articles.

    There is a new need for understanding of what reality is to encompass time. Evolution of nature has is purpose, to which we can only just grasp. Which is expansion off planet if possible. Hence at its detriment to if it fails with one species or another. If fails from what is is the human race, life will go on and evolve. Nature/evolution is farming us. All the human races aptitude to be here and now has to overcome arrogance to greed at first step at least.

O interesse podre dessa HORDA/LEGIÃO DE VAGABUNDOS, vem do dinheiro do nosso bolso, que PROTEGEM MARGINAIS NOS PODERES, PARA TEREM DINHEIRO. Entenderam? TEM LEI, então, só será Fake News, SE A PESSOA, EMPRESA ETC, NÃO APRESENTAREM AS PROVAS. Mas DOENTES DA DESINFORMAÇÃO, "MESMO COM AS PROVAS", FALAM QUE É FAKE NEWS, então, a TODOS ELES UM BELO VÃO A M@RDA, porque isso DESRESPEITA O "ARTIGO 138 DA CONSTITUIÇÃO BRASILEIRA", porque se não prova, FAKE NEWS, SE PROVA TAMBÉM É FAKE NEWS?! ELES NÃO LIDAM COM PESSOAS IMBECILIZADAS! A corrupção do Caráter, Honra e Moral, PUTREFACTA A ALMA DOS HOMENS (MULHERES E HOMENS EM GERAL), mas, GRAÇAS A DEUS, QUE EU NUNCA ME CORROMPI, porque zelo pelas 3 características principais do ser humano e que deixa Legado.

      Not true. The history of childhood is a nightmare from which we have only recently begun to awaken. The further back in history one goes, the lower the level of childcare, and the more likely children are to be killed, abandoned, beaten, terrorised and sexually abused.

    If her claim that a quarter of the 18 million people of the Gulag perished, we would expect, since there was no gas chambers that there should be millions of graves around those Gulag camps, the fact that they don’t exist is a proof that Anne Applebaums claims are dubious….

  • @jawaka1997
    @jawaka1997 ปีที่แล้ว

    The interesting thing about Anne Applbaum’s lecture is that she doesn’t offer one single evidence to prove her claims, The Gulag was a work camp, not a death camp, there was no gas chambers to burn people, the practice of working prisoners was wide spread in the world at the time, she talks about terrible conditions between 1941-1945, but she doesn’t explain that those years were the war period when the USSR was in a terrible economic situation because of the war.

  • @catallaxy
    @catallaxy ปีที่แล้ว

    Applebaum claims that no one was exterminated in the Gulag camps and that a mere 25 million “went through” the Gulag Archipelago. Solzhenitsyn claimed that 66 million people were murdered, in the Gulag system. This is a huge discrepancy, which Applebaum does not clear up or even reference. Solzhenitsyn also describes the fate of “dangerous” intellectuals, who were sent to the uranium mines, with no protective clothes or gear, whatsoever. The healthiest individual could only be expected to last 18 months after being incarcerated in these camps. Applebaum implied that Stalin only used firing squads to exterminate people. But I have learned from many sources that Stalin also sent brigades of murderers and rapists to target whole towns, which Stalin didn’t like for political reasons. The caveat was that no one should be allowed to survive these attacks. This tactic was employed by the Polish communists, during the Solidarity movement, to attack protesting students at universities. Violent criminals were let loose on the student body, of these protesting universities. This happened in the 1980s! Our media in the West, ignored this. Applebaum also trivializes why less people were aware of these crimes against humanity, saying things like “people don’t really care about history.” I am grateful to Anne Applebaum for at least bringing attention to these communist crimes but, I also get the feeling that she is softening the acuity of these atrocities.

  • @catallaxy

    Why was this Gulag Archipelago completely ignored by our media, in the West?

    • @traceybaldwin6509
      @traceybaldwin6509 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because the media in the west doesn’t want to highlight the atrocities committed by a regime that the elites in the west, the Wall Street and the media back then, supported. The NY Times Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, Walter Duranty, who covered Stalin and the Soviet Union in the 1930s, denied the existence of the forced famine in Ukraine (the Holodomor, 1932-33).
