This was our Private Charter group last trip of the season and it was a great one. Limits of bluefin for 20 anglers. Huge shoutout to the captain and crew of The Fury out of Dana Wharf. We headed toward the 43 in search of the bluefin. Day bite was slow but once the night came it was on. Hope you enjoy!

Finally got to get out with my dude Cheethoe. One of my all time favorite guys to fish with. We had a great time at Cabrillo Beach. Lots of fish nothing of size really but nice to get out with him and get some lines wet. See link to watch his video! Thanks for watching. th-cam.com/video/A92eSYVq1TM/w-d-xo.html @cheethoe

Huntington Beach Harbor in Southern California has quickly become my favorite spot to go after spotties. I definitely notice it’s a timing deal. Good times with my buddy Sergio who just recent bought a brand new 2023 Hobie Outback. Can’t wait to get back out there. If you enjoyed the video please Like and Subscribe!

I've been watching your videos im curious, what technique do you use when using soft plastics swimbait? I fish long beach area (pier j, marine stadium) and never caught anything on a swimbait, just on shrimp. I've tried using paddle tales, flukes etc but never seem to catch fish on those. Great videos! Im looking to get a kayak soon.
I have been looking for a walk-through on this particular model and not even the manufactures have done as good a job as you did. The funny part is you were showing us all the really cool stuff you added to it, which is bad ass, but at the same time, I actually got to see every square inch of this model kayak of which I have been wanting to do for a while. I’m very thankful to you.
@@BrettL250 I’m glad it served you well! That was my hopes!
The plates up front are a very overlooked, but huge benefit on the BW compared to the Topwater 120.
Where do you launch from?
Cutting a standard xi3 down is the way to go
Did you drilled a hole for your wirings?
Us coast guard approved life vest? What is that a sticker or stamp on the life vest? lol that’s ridiculous I would have been so mad
@@Peterskillz yup has to have the stamp. So dumb
i admire your confidence to stand. I have PA 14 and i'm scared to stand too long LOL
@@glenfishing it took a few weeks but now I’m very confident. The PA14 is a damn barge!
Hey do you think the 54” xi3 would fit? And would it work in the stow position while using the pedals?
@@waterboy5164 it would work but it would be crazy long. I bought the 54” and cut the shaft down. You can buy the kayak length one though and save the headache
Thanks for commenting back, so I can stow the motor and pedal? Thats really all im worried about. The 36” xi3 are alot more money and cant find them in stock.
@@waterboy5164 stowing with pedal I’m not sure, might be pretty close. I never take my pedals out when i run my motor
Sorry what I meant was when the motor is up and not in the water will I be able to pedal. Just in case the motor goes down I want to be able to get back
@@waterboy5164 without cutting the shaft it might be pretty close, I can measure when I get home and let you know
Memories❤
Y'all killed those trout 🙌🏾
Nice 🙌🏾
Awsome! I have the same kayak and thinking about doing the same thing. Do you have any regrets? Is there anything you wish you knew before hand? How stable is it with the motor? Does the spot lock work well? Im thinking of using it to fish under bridges
3K views! And rewatching!
Pretty bad ass I’m trying to buy a boat to go to Catalina island how big was this boat?
I think it was 21
Good stuff
anything new for this year..
Your Old Town Big water is what I’m working on doing to my Predator PDL. The only difference is I’m going a bit more minimalist as I started fishing for Northern Snakeheads and don’t need to have nearly as much gear. Your set up is awesome. Just ordered my Bow mounting plate from one objective.
What was the top speed of this boat?
If I were to guess maybe 25-30 knots
With 4 renters and a full bait tank, about 23-26 kn
Get em 🔥🔥🔥❤️
I love catching spotties on the 1000 size Okuma spinning reel on a lite rod using the @SubmissionFishingCo slow pitch jigs.
I’ve had slow days before in Mission Bay and San Diego bay. I hate it when the fish jumps back in the water when you’re trying to get a measure on them.
Where u launch from?
Castaways park
Nice day out there 😮great work
Thank you!
Ya, I'll never own a Hobie because of the community, and the people it attracts.
That’s what’s up…
How’s it going nice catch 👌 what bait where you using if you don’t mind me asking ? I’ve been going to Santa Ana river lake no luck yett so idk if I’m using wrong power bait which I try a lot of them thank you
Micetails. Powerbait works too, orange, white, chartreuse
Nice sunrise
New to the Channel just subscribed looking forward to seeing you on the Lake 💯 in 2 weeks after the Rains pass. Will targeting Crappie ever since I seen your last video on Crappie at this lake
I want to pick up on fishing so got my first fishing kayak ( Big Fish 103) as of Jan/2014. I have never been on one before and have been looking for a place to practice. This looks like right place and I'm around 20 miles from the park. Thank you sharing this video.
This is a perfect place to start
I’m curios how much battery do you have after really pushing around for an 8hr day. I do bass tournaments and have the same set up just waiting to pull the plug on a 100ah lithium but was curios your thoughts on power consumption? Also do you notice any flex in the front with the xi3 on there like with the mount? How does it do in rough water do you take anything over the bow on windy days?
I compete in tournaments and go around for 8hrs and have never ran out of
And no, no flex, my kayak handles great in rough water and rarely get water over the bow. And if it does? It drains instantly and I’ve never had water in my hull
@@YakLocal awesome man, great to hear. Thanks for the quick reply definitely appreciated!
Sup Champ? KDD homie checking in
Yo yo!
what plastic bait binder do you have?
It’s a mustad one. Really nice, got it in TW
That's right represent Youngs tackle great place
Yes sir! My favorite spot
Nice catches out there! 😮🤙🏼
Thanks!
Sorry for the old post but did you get much water on the front floor with this setup? What plug is that that you have for the drive hold? I am thinking about a Big Water and I just purchasd a Motor Guide XI3 . Any opinions on do's or don'ts? Thanks
Don’t be sorry! Yes you will get water on your front floor but only if you make a drive plug. I recommend buying the one made by old town. It’s for the predator which is same hull. It’s just a drive plug. It’s deeper so it doesn’t cause water to be turbulent under there. Now I get no water when going. I only get water when I stand up, but it’s very minimal and it drains instantly. I highly recommend the Bigwater, it’s awesome with the xi3
Are you cheating on me with another angler!? jk 😂Nice seeing that SM Custom Rasta rod getting action!
He has an outback too!😂😂thanks man
Thats cool i work at that marina
Lmfao wtf it's not a dog ..here boy here boy .tapping on the rod ..your funny man .lmfao here boy here boy ..jajajajja
Getting my xi3 soon too. Is that remote waterproof? Also what if you are standing and accidentally fall in the water when the motor is moving, how would you stop it?
It’s not waterproof. If you were to fall in you would have enough time to turn the motor off with the remote before water damages it. It has a gasket but if it’s water for minutes it will get water inside
I love the out of there when I was a small kid , but I miss the fishing out there ❤❤❤❤❤❤speciallyrics out of Santa Barbara marina
your fish release style is legendary lol 😆
Hahaha😂
dont you hate it when the sculpin want to dance around your legs :)
Yup! No thank you lol
Gotta get out there w you
Brooo letttss gooooooo
@@YakLocal gotta borrow a pedal drive for the salt lol
@@DoubleDigitAngler nah your motor is good, just rinse it off really good after, a lot of guys use their freshwater motors in the salt
If you dont mind me asking, where do you launch from
Cabrillo launch ramp
What pound test braid/leader line are you using on the slow pitch rig? Nice video man I subbed recently just got a kayak and have been learning the cabrillo area San Pedro resident.
30 pound braid and 12-15pound flouro leader
@@YakLocal thanks brother I might see you out there one day!
@dlok9563 yeah for sure! Thanks for watching man!
Good job. One of my favorite areas to fish.
Nice work out there
Thank you!
This happend to me last night but I caught the Danm thing it was a spotted striped hybrid largemouth and it weighed 12.4lb but it was 2ft2in long got back one of the lures he snapped from my line and the chatter air that finally caught him it was a fun fight
Sounds like fun!
I like that hat. What is it?
