Path to Becoming a CFO | Ajay Vashee, Former CFO at Dropbox
Ajay Vashee is a former CFO at @Dropbox and became a General Partner at the venture firm IVP in Silicon Valley. In this video, Airbase Founder & CEO Thejo Kote sits down with Ajay to hear about his journey as a finance leader.
Ajay’s journey started off with an early career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley in NYC, followed by a move to the investment firm NEA to work in their San Francisco office. From there, Ajay made the leap to a then five-year-old series B company called Dropbox. He served in various finance roles for four years before being tapped as their CFO. His tenure as CFO included two years pre-IPO and then a further two years after taking the company public. Ajay’s perspective on setting objectives and operational realities was invaluable. It was a wonderful conversation about his time at Dropbox and how he perceived the role and importance of the finance team from his position as an investor.
