It's November! Garden Tour Fall 2024 Update
Hey y'all!
It’s the first week of November and I am shocked by what is still growing in my garden. This time last year in zone 7B we had a killing first frost and I lost a lot, but this year is a different story. So come on in to the garden and see what I have going on. And see all sorts of interesting plants and volunteers, as well. And please feel to kindly comment and share what you think some of my mystery plants are.
Enjoy, keep growing and share what you're doing. Blessings!

Cash's 2nd Birthday
มุมมอง 2121 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hey y'all! It’s October 21st and a great day. Just wanted to share us celebrating Cash’s 2nd birthday. He is our F1B mini golden doodle. He is a gift from God and truly completes our family. He actually kept his hat on for pics. I baked him a doggy cake from Amazon (I Love Pet Cakes .com) and added sweet potato from the garden and peanut butter. The frosting contained yogurt and no sugar, but i...
Tomato harvest & garden updates

Hey y'all! I am still harvesting summer tomatoes and cucumbers. I am still getting peppers too. Just praying I can get as much off the plants before our first predicted frost date of Oct. 21st according to Farmers Almanac. Last year was Oct 30th. So we'll see. I am just doing my best to assemble my hoops and frost cloth and watching the weather daily. What are you all doing to prepare? Enjoy, k...
Blanching beans My friends unique family heirloom variety

Hey y'all! it's been fun harvesting all the garden goodness. This time I am sharing preserving via blanching/freezing some long green beens I picked from a friends backyard garden. Her family cam to middle TN when she was 5 years old from Laos. They also brought these beans that her grandparents and parents grew. My friend grows then from saved seeds every year and they are beautiful vining up ...

    I bought this and love it but fun fact I could not get it to work with wide mouth 8oz jars....and these are the only wide mouth jars I have so not sure that the wide mouth function works but works flawlessly with regular lid 8oz and 16oz jars.

    I am in your boat, afraid and have all the equipment. What would you use those tomatoes for? Thanks for the video. FYi, you used the handle of the lifter to take the jar out, the rolling thick portion is your hand grip and the other side nestles the jars. I took a class and anytime you take out of boiling water it continues to cook and same with Pressure Canning. Your fine.

    • @southernskytngarden
      @southernskytngarden 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'll probably end up using them for salsa and then also we make a lot of zucchini noodles and pasta so I'll grind them up and use them as pasta sauce also. Thank you so much for watching! Canning is not as intimidating as you think. I was glad I'm finally doing it because I have so many tomatoes to preserve.

  • @wendya1250
