As a Slavic language speaker there are couple moments in Turkish which freak me out: 1)agglutination-it's very hard to disassemble the word on the fly.We are not used to it.2) the pronunciation is pretty tricky,and in my opinion ladies tend to soften the consonants more than men. 3) word order in the sentence which seems to be like mutated German counterpart on steroids and after couple bottles of whisky. 4) grammar constructions with words like olmaduğunu,istemediğine and so on.These ones got me the most.The logic of complex sentence is so much different in Turkish than in Indoeuropean languages.And ,of course,forget about familiar sounding words.It's not the way ,for example,if you are learning French or Spanish and having familiar words everywhere. Turkish is absolutely unknown territory,Terra Incognita.
