back in the 80s there was not a lot of love between metalheads and punk rockers. This was one tape you could put on that everybody would agree on.

@@justsomedudeyouknow8372 wow it’s almost like I do or I wouldn’t be asking🤦‍♂️ Didn’t know I couldn’t try out other sounds either🤷‍♂️ cause Eric from life sentence definitely never tried anything new. But someone with that much hate obviously jumps to assumptions first. Edit: also sorry to tell you buddy but life sentence, minor threat, gbh and other bands all have the same tone. The only difference is one band has more power in the amp than the other. Maybe try starting a band before telling others what to do. Also nice try on trying to be witty but it didn’t succeed.

@Crash.7434 ive been in bands for years and I didn't go online asking every single person I ran across in a bands comment section how I could rip off the guitarists sound . Nice condescending attitude tho like I was somehow being a dick

@@justsomedudeyouknow8372 crazy, but did I ask? wow you taught yourself? Wow you must need an award since it’s so difficult to play a power chord and open position chord.(I know your a little slow so I’ll let you know that it was sarcasm cause your small brain may not be able to comprehend that it was) Obviously your sound didn’t work cause no one knows or cares for you😂 Edit: but anyways what sound should I use? My marshal half stack with my headless grote? My Kramer with my crate voodoo half stack? Or what about my Gibson sg with a line six half stack? I know so many sounds😂 you may not be able to keep up with it. But hey you know me so you should have already known what my main set up is. If I was this upset over my own life I’d probably take it out on someone on yt also… or maybe I wouldn’t 😂.

From 1990 when I first found this on cassette, it has been one of my all-time favorite punk albums, remaining so even after an ex girlfriend got hold of it two years later (along with a couple others) and proceeded to destroy it. It's proven damned near impossible to replace years later. So glad I can find it on TH-cam!

This entire album is the epitome of Punk Rock. And living in Chicagoland, I was lucky enough to see them play quite a few times. They would let my buddy, Mike Goode, get on stage and sing PUNKS FOR PROFIT a couple times. Man, I miss those days 😔 Anyways, the reason why I started to comment was to see if anyone out there has the lyrics to IN THE STREETS??? If so, could you post them in a reply to this comment, please? I don't believe the original albums or cassettes came with the lyrics because if they did, I'd know every single word to this very day, as often as I played this album. It was kinda weird the way I even bought their cassette in the first place back in 1987. I was on vacation with my family down in Florida back in the days when southern Florida was one huge party during Spring Break. And that's where we were and that's when it was. Spring Break of 1987. I was only 14 years old but I was able to sneak off and party with some of the high school and college kids. During one of the days while we were there, I went into a record shop that was in this strip mall. It was one of those corporate record shops you'd find in the malls like Camelot Records or Musicland or some other such crappy music store. Well, back then even all the corporate record stores had some decent Punk and Metal albums. I LOVED looking at all those cassettes and LPS back then: 7 Seconds, GBH, Septic Death, The Exploited, Circle Jerks, Slayer, Celtics Frost, Anthrax, etc. Well, this place had........ NOTHING!!! And I'm not exaggerating one bit. I mean, they didn't even have a Metallica album!?!? I was never a fan of Metallica but what kind of record store didn't even stock Metallica back in 1987?!?!?! But then I saw this bright red cassette spine blaring out from all the others and when I picked it up, I was so surprised to see that it was LIFE SENTENCE!!! I had heard of them being from Chicago but I never heard any of their tunes or saw them in concert or knew much about them, other than they were from Chicago. So, of course I bought it along with a PINK FLOYD "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON" cassette. Crazy combo, right? Well, I played the LIFE SENTENCE first and I wasn't all that impressed. It was alright but I was expecting much more out of it. Later on I popped in the Pink Floyd and I instantly realized that the batteries in my headphones were low, as I was already familiar with DARK SIDE OF THE MOON. So, it suddenly dawned on me that I was listening to the LIFE SENTENCE cassette with low batteries!?!?!? Ha!!! So, I popped in some fresh new batteries and then tried the LIFE SENTENCE cassette again and HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blew me away from beginning to end. Ha!!! And this album has certainly aged very well, as it still blows me away all these years later.
