The subject on the histories be getting me hot because people really don’t understand black American lineage. We are told to learn our history because “we don’t know it”. Black Americans…we BLACK. That’s our ethnicity. We came from Africa , We came from Europe, The Caribs, we come from Central America from places like the Miskito Kingdom, We come from the Native American tribes. We tri-racial meaning we got 3 beginnings. 3 races of people in us. European, Indigenous and African. We’ve been this mixed group of people with mixed histories for almost 40+ generations ( 5 gens back put you at 1850-180ish) - That’s 50 million black American peoples. 50 million family stories. From Florida creoles to Louisiana creoles to Atlantic creoles(east coast up north), Creoles of color (Texas Mississippi, Oklahoma), etc. People want Black Americans to chose one side of our history and identify with that and unify when it just don’t work like that. With that being said - You NEVER gone get black Americans on the same page amongst each other. WE NEVER BEEN THE SAME and TODAY how the diced rolled when the 1900s came around some of us was into money, some of us was poor, some of us had stability, some of us had to get on the road for our great migrations. How some of us see it some of this land is ours by indigenous birthright (native ancestry) and because enslavement (nation building slαves). Our call for reparations and acknowledge of our overall history really never respected. It’s just written over or ignored. Before Lil Haiti was Lil Haiti it was Lemon City. It was a Bahamian hood for like 60-70 years over there. The oldest grave yard over there is a black grave yard with Bahamians that go back to 1870. 40% of Bahamians in the Bahamas came from America. Either on the Underground Railroad, during the Seminole wars (within that 40% you got descents of the Seminoles and black Seminoles) or transported there during slavery. They talk like people from Carolina. They talk like Gullah Geechees. Some of the ppl from Carolina. Carolina people also to Trinidad, Jamaica and a few other British controlled islands.
