I appreciate you taking the time to share your observations and opinion, and to state with clarity at the end your conclusion that ADHD isn’t a thing. I used to think so myself. I'm wondering, though, if you've spoken with anyone who has it, or have looked at the research on the disorder. I ask, mainly because it seems there’s a bit of armchair psychology going on in this video (and I say that with all due respect because I've generally enjoyed your content). I have ADHD and, as with others who have it, none of those items you listed have much of an effect. For example, I could be in a room with no distractions of any sort and still not be able to control my thoughts. The medication I've tried, which I don’t take anymore for other reasons, definitely affect me differently than it would a neurotypical person; substances like Adderall or caffeine actually calm me down and help focus me, while with others it has the opposite effect. I could go on and on here, but there is no doubt there are different brain chemistries out there, and while it should never be used an excuse for being a terrible person to soneone else or to just be lazy, to ignore the biological facts (at least as far as we know them) seems like there is something else at play. The best way I can explain the experience of ADHD to someone without it is that there is no difference in the quality of the symptoms, but significant difference in the quantity. Everyone, at some point, gets distracted, losses focus, is forgetful, etc.. But having ADHD means that this is happening ALL the time, every minute of ever day is a challenge is this regard. It can appear to someone else that it's a lack of discipline or some other lifestyle choice consequence, but it simply isn't. You can't just 'try hard enough" to do something one's brain makes it incapable of doing. Like no matter how hard you try, you probalbly won't be able to move objects with your mind: telekinesis (if it even exists) isn’t a result of effort. And it would be silly to think of soneone failing to move a chair wirh their brain as someone who just drinks to much or had family trauma they haven't dealt with. While I believe most of society's ills can be at least somewhat assuaged with your list of recommendations of better living, just choosing not to believe in a biological reality because it doesn't fit into your ideological perscription is lazy at best and dangerous at its worst.
