Loved that silky deep voice! My oil painting teacher in college played his records as we painted, and many of us had never heard him before, and became fans. A year later, my future husband & I (although back then we had no idea we'd marry), both worked for the airlines, and late one night, Lou Rawls flew in. We were the only airline people still working, and he hung out with us, just chatting. That voice! Oh my! He was a down to earth, lovely man, and we had such fun. Many years later, I went to an auction, and bought the microphone that Lou used in a local club. Both the club and Lou were gone by then. I cherish that piece of history, and the memories!
