    Where do you get the idea to recommend a rotary mower to reduce compaction? A self powered reel mower would be healthier for the grass, and it doesn't weigh nearly as much as a rotary mower.

    • @TrugreenUk

      You will need to allow the excess surface water to clear before aeration as you do not want to aerate waterlogged soil, so wait until the surface has dried.

    • @TrugreenUk

      Spring aeration is about allowing air back into the soil so that it can reach the roots and improves drainage, so there is no reason to apply a top dressing now.

      @@aikakai3220 these people have no idea what they're talking about Maas is one of the least competitive organisms on the planet. It doesn't suffocate the lawn. It does consume moisture but only to a certain point and after that it actually filters the water before it hits the soil. It is an excellent air purifier and actually removes way more carbon than grass well. It is extremely low maintenance and it actually helps inhibit a lot of undesirable insects like mosquitoes.

    • @TrugreenUk
      @TrugreenUk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello bogboy, we do offer both types of aeration, but generally use a solid tine, as when completed at close centres this is the most efficient way of increasing the air moisture balance in the soil, and encouraging strong and healthy grass growth. We would hollow tine as part of a programme of incorporating a top dressing to improve drainage and rooting capacity, but this is generally as part of a larger renovation.
