Every game total lack of grit and decision making at the quarterback position. Plus, somethings weird when his best friend and great receiver is wanting to leave.

He did seem mad during the press conference and I don’t expect him to announce anything during that. This team should have been 11-1 and absolutely no less than 10-2 this year. I work for people who expect excellence and there is never an excuse for anything less. There’s forgiveness and help when you’re accountable etc. but it’s never acceptable to do less than excellence or what we’ve been told. That’s being said, they also are the most supportive and believing in you people I’ve ever known. They have blessed us with nice things and financially etc many times. They are simply the best but excuses are not accepted 😎. That’s why I am so hard about the nonsense that went on this year. The love coach and these players 100% but people get so what they get away with. If mediocrity is ok that what you will get.

this feels like Iowa State 2022 off season where everyone who wasn't Campbell or Heacock staff was let go and did a hard reboot for rest staff which was needed. that's probably the goal for KSU this off season. if you have an NFL ST coach, why isn't he in the NFL? if he was good at his job he wouldn't be available. anyway, thank you KSU for butter hands last night and forcing John to make a new joke about Iowa State not having 10 wins in a season now. LOL.

Holding all night by both teams. No excuses. Interesting that the wildcats weren't cheering for each other. The offense or defense when off the field were hiding in their tents. When special teams were on the field offense and defense were in the tents i got some great pics of it. Got to win or lose as a team imo.

No excuses here because we did beat ourselves, yet Iowa State got away with holding all night long. Our mistakes reminded me of High School mistakes, not college mistakes. The Cats normally have this ongoing need to crap all over themselves in November. Klieman is not tough enough on his coaches.

Well Cole we had 4 games this year where a healthy QB didn’t make the difference the cats still lost so…might as well go 100% on every play

I believe the OL needs MAJOR work, either in coaching/players or both. Too many times the OL has not held up which caused multiple issues with plays. Just my opinion.

Cole, I watched many of Curry Sexton's game analysis. I'm so impressed with this super-smart lawyer and former Kansas State wide receiver. One would be hard pressed to find someone who understands the game better than this man. If Kansas State were to hire him as OC, the sky would be the limit for limit for the Wildcats. Of this I'm sure. Curry Sexton could continue to be the lawyer for the Foote Cattle Co and be OC at the same time. There is a parallel: Colleen Kline becoming OC after having been the quarterback. Or even better: offer the coaching job to him. Also, Chris Klieman seems to be taking our team south. OK, he did win the Big 12 recently. I doubt that he could repeat this. What are the chances of hiring Colleen Kline? I continue to have faith in Avery. He showed what he can do against Cinci. His talents continue to be misused, And what about the horrendous refereeing? It does seem they were paid off. If the call on the first play had been reversed and Avery ran for a bunch of yards as he did against Cinci, and the Cats scoring on the first drive, the outcome could have been similar to the Cinci game. Just like for the two of you: pure torture for 3 hours.

let's try one of these Plays That Don't Work... Anywho... Looking at the comparative wins, it makes a case for divisions or pods, because ASU, BYU, ISU, CU and TCU benefitted the most from easy schedules. TCU had only 2 opponents in the top 9; the rest had only 3. KU, Cin, and OSU got the worst schedule, each playing 8 of the top 9. #1 Ariz St benefitted from playing KU early and K-State and BYU late. They won a lot of close games and other than BYU, they only played 3 teams with a winning record, feeding off the bottom. #3 ISU played #5, & #7 through 14, 3 teams with a winning record. Did not play ASU, BYU, or CU. #2 BYU finished the schedule with 6 games against the bottom 7 (15,16,14,13, 10, 1, 12) & having played only 3 of the top 8. Their only quality win was KSU and they milked that for all it was worth. All the other 8-4 teams besides KSU were 6-3 in the conference (BU, TCU, TT) but didn't have to play KSU. To hop over KSU's hellacious schedule of night games on the road. Kansas State played only one of the bottom four, but did play the top four & finishes 8th. #5 Baylor finished fifth, but were 0-3 against teams in the polls & their only wins against teams with a winning record were TCU (non-quality opponent) and Texas Tech. They lost to Utah in a non-conf game. The team with the most cream-puffy schedule was TCU who finished 6th, beat Tech by one point for the tiebreaker. That was their only win against teams with a winning record. Didn't have to play the top 4 or KSU, but they did play the bottom 7 teams, going a whopping 5-2. toughest games were against #5 & #7, splitting those. But they will get a bowl game and KU will not, unless they are one of the exceptions with a 5-7 record, if there are not enough 6-6 teams. Tech had quality wins over ASU & ISU, so they went 2-1 against the top 4, but lost tiebreaker games to Baylor & TCU. They had 5 games against the top 6 and 6 games against the top 9 (to KSU's 5) and one stinky loss (TCU). Nobody behind us in the standings finished with a winning record, but WV is bowl-eligible.

It’s a bland boring stagnant offense that seems to be high school type 1 read offense. I want a young vibrant HC that’s innovative. Kleiman maintained our program. We need someone (cough) Klein to elevate it

It was obvious from the start that they were going to play to lose the game. I think it was decided by someone that we were going to help ISU get the championship game. Yea, go Cyclones. The fix was in, I wonder how much money some of the KSU staff made on their bets made.

I’m tired of hearing about the family issues but nobody will report what it is. I understand keeping some stuff personal but when it affects coaching, game planning and mental state of the team maybe it’s time to tell the fans what went on.

No defensive pressure on the QB. Need bigger better defensive linemen. That’s the most difficult position to recruit, but we need game changers there. Maybe Avery is not the golden boy we all thought he was he was. Those late game passes were horrible.

Our program shouldn't be the place where an under-qualified OC gets his on the job training. Kleiman made a misplaced decision then gets butt-hurt to be called out on it. And Cole, you're right about the lack of leadership. It shows.

Actually a low scoring game favors iowa state. KSU avg 37pts per win. 14pts per loss. Iowa state wants to keep every game low scoring.

Are you nuts, Iowa State killed us on running last year Saiwa had 280 yrds, plus they have Carson Hansen. That kid is one bad dude.

Any scenario where Baylor and K-State tiebreakers matter will probably have such a logjam that all the contending teams would have no common opponents, so it would come down to opponents' conference records. Baylor played Tech (5 current conference wins) and TCU (5 wins). K-State played ASU (6 wins) and Cincy (3 wins). BU opponents have a one game edge, but that can obviously change this weekend.

That second play, Avery TD, the pulling tackle doesn't really contribute much, seems like it's too far for him to run to get to the opposite edge where Avery is going. Would maybe be better to pull that guard instead so he can get out front and contribute a block.

I thought the biggest contributor to the success of the run game was finally attacking the edges , off tackle, stretch zone, Avery running at the edge. Once that worked, you saw the inside zone open back up.

I was wondering if Avery was hurt, that wasn’t reported, during the HU and ASU games why was he playing! The QB run game is too important for KSU success not to have that part of the play calling available.

It seems Kilte didn’t run upfield enough to block a guy who seems to slow Avery some.
