Home made Motorcycle tire changer
มุมมอง 361ปีที่แล้ว
Tired of my local shops tearing up my rims and mounting my tires wrong. I also prefer to be self sufficient. I made this bead breaker and rim holder for free with stuff I had laying around. It only took me about 10 minutes to take the old tire off and put the new one on. Verses the 2.75 hours it took me to do it with out the bead breaker and rim holder. I love it. It made changing tires virtual...

Vitpilen 401 Head Gasket issue?
มุมมอง 4.3Kปีที่แล้ว
After digging into this motor it looks more to me like it is a casting issue. The coolant ports that pass through the block do not line up with the gasket. The head face is dinged up too. Looks to me like a poorly manufactured engine. I will be selling her now and getting me an XSR700 to replace it. Japan knows how to build an engine right. The parallel twin in the XSR has a valve clearance ser...
11, 000 Miles on a Vitpilen 401. Vitpilen 401 Review

My experience riding my Vitpilen 401 for one year and 11,000 miles. I was wanting to do a more elaborate filming originally. Could you please give the torque figures for all the bolts. On the rockers do they all torque to the same or are they different since they’re different lengths, additionally the four bolts ontop of the engine

@Botskimo The manual says all the valve cam bolts are supposed to be 10Nm or 7.4 lbf ft. Tightened in a criss cross patern. The 4 valve cover bolts are supposed to be 12Nm or 8.9lbf ft. You really should purchase the service manual you can get it from ktm.

Thank you for recommending this video. I was looking at this bike, the Kawasaki Vulcan S, and Honda Rebel 300 or 500. I guess I will go with the other options. I really liked the aesthetic of this bike, and that's the only reason I was interested in it, but I don't want to have to keep putting money into it because it's unreliable. Having to do regular maintenance is different from a bike that destroys itself due to bad manufacturing.

@yoyoyo10284 I pressed down on the foot pegs with my toes forcing my thighs into the bottom of the tank since it kind of flares out. If that doesn't work out for you I would say get some tec. Spec tank grips for it. I no longer have that bike. I had head gasket issues with it which turned out to be block casting issues since the engines are made very cheaply in india. I made a TH-cam video about it as well. Now own a Yamaha xsr 900. I could not be more happier with my yamaha. I've already put about 20,000 miles on it it's solid. Virtually Bulletproof. I love the styling, handling and extremely high quality of it. I will be sticking with Japanese bikes from now on. You have to adjust valve clearances every 9,000 miles on the Husqvarna and every 24,000 miles on the Yamaha. This is a very big difference as I ride about 10,000 to 12,000 miles a year. Hope this helps.

It is usually accompanied by deleting the catalytic converter in the exhaust and an open air box filter cover. Hopefully that answers your question. I don't remember talking about any kind of "super cube".

5' 9" with a 32" inseam. The Vitpilen with its clip on handlebars rides just like any other sport bike I've been on. It has you lean forward quite a bit putting you into more of an attack position instead of a relaxed riding position. My longer rides have been about two and a half hours straight but after about an hour you're ready to take a break.

Nice job. I built an electric Enduro bike that’s about 200 pounds and the kickstand that came with the frame was absolute junk and broke. I purchased a universal motorcycle kickstand on Amazon, and spent hours and hours and hours cutting and reshaping the part that bolts to the bike with a Dremel… unfortunately I don’t have your tools as I live in an apartment so I am extremely jealous. I am purchasing a welder to weld on the foot… as I had to cut the foot off of kickstand to fit to the size of the bike. I haven’t welded since high school, but I’ve wanted one for a while. So wish me luck lol. Anyway, again nice job.
