We are two Christ-loving, creation-tending, family-cultivating farmsteaders from the midwest. We'll be sharing videos about our farm projects, DIYs, crafts, new farm endeavors, new family endeavors (babies, adoption, homeschooling, work/life balance), and some of the Christian motivations that guide us on our way. Join us on our channel as we chase after our biggest dreams - to raise a loved and loving big ol' family, to build up our farmstead one fence post at a time to provide for that family as sustainably as possibly, and to learn more every day about who God is through our time with Him, our community, and our relationship with God's Creation.
Rabbit Colony Carport Enclosure
A rabbit colony needs a safe shelter to thrive. We turned a carport into a secure, affordable, DIY enclosure for our rabbit colony!
We split the enclosure into two rooms: one for our main colony, and a second room gives us options. Right now it houses our meat birds (turkeys and chickens). This new design answered a LOT of the problems we faced in our first year raising meat rabbits in a colony. To see our previous set up check out our video from last summer: th-cam.com/video/bsagXYwkIgM/w-d-xo.html

Nice idea...but what about the poop they deposit inside the burrow
❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Tương tác nha you
A little disappointed, thought this was about the rabbits having somewhere to park.😄
We are very windy where i am in Kentucky. I am wondering how it has held up over the year?
Hi Kathy! It has held up great. We had some intense storms this spring and lost two other structures on our farm to wind damage, this one held up perfectly. I think having the weight of the soil on top of the chicken wire attached throughout the frame really solidified the whole structure, we've been happy with it!
In a colony. How many bucks so you add. Or you separate them ?
One would be best. If you have a very large colony and area, maybe you could have more without fighting
Hey! I have a very similar set up as well with a 10x10 dog kennel for my buns! I didn’t go as deep but I dug my bottom out by hand. My only regret I didn’t go deep enough for them to really burrow.
Supporting each other here. Keep it up
Great video
What happens when it rains?
Love the colony! I have I similar colony. Great job 👏🏼👍
woodprix has very useful plans with all details I need
Great job I raise my rabbits in a Colony also . Love it
It's the best, our daughter loves watching them happily hop around. My favorite thing is the surprise babies that come popping out of the burrows! We completely took down and recreated our set up to fix some of the literal holes with this one, if you want to check it out! th-cam.com/video/a1jNwoj9QzA/w-d-xo.html
Haven't seen a video in a while everything ok?
That's so kind of you to check in! We've been really busy adjusting to parenthood life on the farm, but we're getting back into our videos now. I just posted an update on our colony, we switched up the set up! th-cam.com/video/a1jNwoj9QzA/w-d-xo.html
