„Black Bottom“ played on a Hohner “Erica”
I have slightly improved my “Erica” by adding a small wooden counter batten beneath the melody buttons. This bar stops the keys from being pressed too deeply into the openings while playing.
I also reupholstered the pallets - which open and close the reed-valves - with high-quality sheepskin. This made the box more airtight than before.

how do you make 'em, maestro?
I have a little schematic description of the components of my PVC Chanter on my video “homemade PVC Clarinet...” (th-cam.com/video/k8NGMz4cqsw/w-d-xo.html at 0:38) The drone works on the same technical principle. A PVC pipe only without finger holes and with only one tone. The “bag of the pipe” is a freezer bag😊
Wow! ... creative idea! 👍
Thank You!!! 😊
Tutorial when ??? lovely sound!!
Great that you like the sound👍“Tutorial when?” good question😉
can you tell me how to make the whistle parts?
On oaklanddiscovery.blogspot.com/2012/02/pvc-steam-whistle.html you will find a description of how simple PVC whistles like mine are made. It's the principle of a "stopped organ pipe". I use empty tubes from used felt-tip pens as PVC pipes.
@@Professor_Sperrmueller thank you! I'm very impressed by your video and i gonna make my own instrument.
@@nakanaka6973 You're welcome🙂 Good luck with building your instrument!
This is iconic
👍🙂
Nice
Thank You!🙂
Một sáng kiến hay
Thank You!🙂
Well, what can you say? It is a pipe organ. Rather ingenious.
Thanks for the compliment🙂
Orgue de barbarie voilà 😂
Orgue des barbares🤣
I like that "Klunky" bell striking sound.
I like it, too!🙂
It's lady gaga
Yes, it's gaga, like the Lady😉
What is the name of the second song? After the Turkish March...
It’s called “Der Mini-Rock” by Mo Spann. That’s me, by the way😉
@@Professor_Sperrmueller thank you!!
👍...never an end to man's ingenuity...
👍....Our little church needs a new organ.....lol
😂👍
Where does the crank/gear mechanism comes from? Did you made it yourself or you bought it? I'm trying to build a gramophonesque thing myself and I just can't find a feasable way to build the mechanism
This crank/gear mechanism is a weird self-construction of mine😉 The shaft that rotates the turntable (a wooden plate) is a hub from a bicycle front wheel. The axle of the hub is fixed in a piece of wood at the bottom. The wooden turntable is attached to the spoke holes on the “upper” rim of the hub using Spax screws. The crank (tinkered together with a combination of bolts, elbow-connectors and other parts from electronic waste) has a wheel with a “rubber tire” fixed to the other end. This “rubber wheel” touches the "lower" rim of the hub and friction (rubber/steel) causes the hub to rotate when the crank is turned. I hope I could help you a little bit🙂
I love it! Makes my day 👏
I am very happy about that!😃
How to this
You mean how it works? The lotion tubes are "bellows" that blow air through the pipes when they are pressed. This push of air makes them sound. The different pitches of these "stopped pipes" are determined by their different lengths (air duct) inside. Long duct = deep tone; short duct = high note.
So is flexing the PVC creating much tonal change or is mostly the petal? Would love to hear it played clean.
Yes, flexing the PVC loosens the tension of the string and produces a deeper tone. In the first half of the video, before I use the wah-wah pedal, you can actually hear it quite clean.
¿NϺOᗡ ƎᗡISԀՈ sǝqnʇ ǝɥʇ ǝɹɐ ʎɥϺ
Actually they are downside up so that you can play them comfortably🤓
😂😂😂 Richtig geil!
😂👍
Wie geil! 👍🏻
DANKE👍🙂
What material is the „neck?
Too cool! Will have to figure out how built so I can have one too....😊
🙂Yes, go for it and make your own👍
I love this design. I might have to try something similar.
Yes, go for it and do your thing👍
Music sounds good, what record is that?
This is a German shellac recording of Jacques Offenbach's "Barcarolle" from the opera "The Tales of Hoffmann". The song is played by the orchestra "Palais de Danse", Berlin. The record label is called "Beka" and I assume the recording is from the 1920s.
This is the music that accompanies the screams of the damned in the fires of hell. Probably the maddest musical contraption I've ever seen, great work!
I'm sorry for the poor souls🤣
@@Professor_Sperrmueller please add a second pump and a reservoir for better sound qaulity and longer playtime.
@@Irobert1115HD All my instruments are far from perfect, but that's what I love about them🙂
@@Professor_Sperrmueller its not far from perfect or anything. its just how organs are build to prevent fluctuations in the tones.
@@Irobert1115HD You are right!
What a novel idea
Thank You🙂
"Mom, I want an organ." "We have an organ at home." Organ at home:
"Yes, a home-made organ, my son."😉
Did you just play an upbeat version of Lightly Row?
You've got it!👍
Does it comes in djent?
I'm actually too "old school" to do "djent"😉 but I'll think about it👍
The organic warm sound of your instrument is gorgeous. It's about the tone. Rivals any synth for this kind of sound. Nice job! Make bigger pipes! more bass!😂 😁That was cool. Bravo!👏 👏👏🥳
Many thanks for your compliments👍
For one second it sound like "Boom" - John Barry. 0:07 th-cam.com/video/QWynOquQZ44/w-d-xo.htmlsi=w1tSzQ0W0klFu0nC
You are right! The sound of the pipes and the way I play is similar to “Boom”🙂
Haha. Very cool! Almost sounds like a dungchen horn right at the beginning.
