"The Multitasker" Dayton Beer Company Magic Bartender
Ever pondered if there's a beer out there just for you? Well, at Dayton Beer Company, our mystical bartender has the answer.
This project was a proof of concept for a local bar in downtown Dayton that unfortunately never materialized. While we're disappointed we couldn't see it through and miss working with all the fantastic people involved, we felt it should at least be shared here for everyone's enjoyment.
Filmed in September 2018.

      The actor really did play this skit perfectly. The details with the hand placement for each door enter and exit as well. He was a joy to work with on this. Made directing very easy and fun.

    Film school is overrated. The greatest benefit of film school back in the 80s and 90s was access to expensive gear. The barrier entry cost is way down where anyone who wants to be a filmmaker can do so. They will learn WAY MORE working on their own projects than they will in a theory based program. When you add the outrageous costs of extraneous gen ed classes and rising costs of overpriced textbooks, one would do much better making the same mistakes on their own projects that they would on their film school projects. Besides, no one in the industry cares if you have a degree. I say this as someone with three Master degrees in different fields in Entertainment.

      @grktrinity ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of truth in your comments, but still a difficult and personal decision per individual. I think the most important part that helps in learning is creating projects over and over again. Which people can do much easier now with the accessibility of equipment. The benefits of film school, as you stated, the gear, is still a plus, as well as the networking opportunities and guidance from instructors. I still talk to people in the industry who went to film school and hire people from their film schools because of connections. A big negative of course is the cost. Some students come in and know exactly what they want to do and don't need much guidance - and for them, film school is not needed. For some students who feel lost on where to start, having an instructor who can mentor them is valuable. But, individuals can find mentors outside of school as well. It is really about being a film community. Helping guide each other as filmmakers. Thanks for your comments!
