They also learned the foundations of clowning and crafted their own clown persona. Participants learned new skills, but perhaps more importantly, connected with each other and found renewed joy through l...

Its unusually diverse collections-art, circus, history, architecture, performance, gardens-reflect its unique origin story. At the heart of that story is circus impresario John Ringling and his wife Mable, and their shared desire to make Sarasota a world-class destination. #TheRingling #AerialView #MuseumofArt #Bayfro...

Go see her! An amazing experience.
My daughter and I stopped by the Venice circus train car museum and saw your quarters on the train. Lots of history! Lo and behold, 2 weeks later we meet you at the braves stadium. You spoke with us and were very congenial! I remember Steve Smith as well as he would visit the Tomato Patch deli. Thank you for your Actions and legacy that continues the Circus Clown tradition.
So much fun!
The response question to the answer of the first question: You've stated that acrobats did have accidents due to the costumes they were wearing. So, whose to say that these acrobats didn't wear heels while walking on the robe just because they are not commonly doing that now? So, by looking at the act and what "most" of these people are wearing now, would it really be a good way to distinguish between publicity and actual stunt performance? That was the first and the best question of the entire Q/A. The speculations are high, we cannot prove much without a video. . .
Peggy was my downstairs neighbor when I was just a kid. She used to paint my siblings and me up like clowns in her apartment. She kind of shaped my life! Wish I could share with her!!!

I experienced Rave Lucid at the Asolo Theater last night, and I was blown away by the unique style and energy of this group. I left wanting to see more of these very talented dancers. And by the applause and and dancing in the lobby, it looked like the rest of the audience agreed.
🤔
Oh no - I recently bought tickets to see this dude in concert with Lydia Lunch, without knowing who he was. He's absolutely intolerable!!! Not sure how I'll survive the night🤣🤣
😂 how so?
She is so entertaining. I watched her on Circus History Live and she was great.
THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟 STUNNING DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME
Some of my best memories as a child were the field trips to the museum, and later on watching shows at the theater

So we wear white?
Allez y c'est merveilleux!
I'm so very glad I discovered this today. I would have loved to have known her. She is the real deal and more. Her mention of Lou Ann Jacobs made me sit up and smile wide. Lou Ann was the first circus performer I met, in the spring of 1981. She was doing her aerial contortion and loop walk and assisting her man's whip act. I met her outside the Augusta, Maine Civic Center where the annual Shrine Circus was playing. she was between shows, walking her small dog. I asked how to join a circus as a juggler. She suggested Clyde Beatty-Cole Bros. I dropped out of music school and joined CBCBC March of 1982, worked with them as a juggler/clown 1982-90. I eventually met Lou Ann's sister Dolly, am friends with her on Facebook now. LaNorma, I am sure, knew brother and sister jugglers Francis and Lottie Brunn, who also worked with RBBB. Francis was a big influence on my juggling styles. I met Lottie once when she visited CBCBC 1989. LaNorma's dedication to trapeze and circus life is really admirable. It would've been wonderful to have seen her perform in a one-ring show in Europe, back in the day. I must read more about her. Thank you for sharing this and allowing me to recall many fond memories. I had a crush or two on some trapeze ladies, back in the day. 😊
I do own a bronz sculpture of this twin e
Quite elaborative! Thank you Professor Chrystine!
Thank you for sharing her life. As a descendant of Millie Christine my grandmother has told us her stories so we can pass the information and uplift the Welches Creek community.
Enjoyed the video. Thanks

This is an amazing interview, Peggy genuinely seems so lovely talented and funny! It’s incredible that she’s become a part of history in that way
Grandissimo maestro della pittura italiana ❤
Great Conversation!
What a wonderful Museum!
great video
How beautiful !
Wtf was that completely crazy cultist statement you read before the talk, and wtf does it have to do with tapestries?
thank you for such a wonderful talk! 😄🥰
JBT crew in the house. I hope this blows up. 🙏🏾✊🏾👍
I was selected to attend the Ringling Bros. Clown college to become a “clown”. 🤡An article was featured in life magazine. After which I was offered a contract with the Red Unit. Unfortunately I was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam war! It was a great experience!👍🏽😁🤪
I'm super curious about the legwear of the ladies in the 1903 photo. Everything I've read says that tights were not invented until the mid-20th century, but clearly these ladies are wearing some sort of tights. I'm trying to put together an historical costume for a circus performer around this time period (1880-1900) and I can't find anything about the legwear!
Wonderful interview Dolly. I remember that time in DC when you came back to the show with your new act. I remember Margie, your audition & that fist performance when your Dad in full costume set web for you as you performed. I remember seeing you & Pedro at Busch Gardens. So wonderful to hear your story..
Yes thank you for sharing these insights into the life of Millie-Christine.
I missed the opportunity in buying a book, which featured images of their anatomical join. I use to be afraid of twins like this, but got over it in early 2004. And can't get enough of them, always looking for new and old ones not well known to the public.
Super, we need more of this. I hope you will continue. The circus has given us so much and we need to treasure every aspect of it so that we never forget what it took to create the magic.
Saito Kiyoshi should be a household name. There is such soul in his work. If I had the means to collect art I would rather have his work in my house than probably any Western artists of the 20th century.
Great video
Very interesting topic. In the photograph of the DeMott family at 23 minutes, I believe Josie DeMott Robinson is the little girl in front. Mollie Brown (who was eight years older than Josie and was actually her aunt) is not pictured here.
RIP Howard. I always enjoyed as a kid watching you carve this circus.
