Bro, Why does Death have to be so attractive. Even if he was a Humanoid being, I'd absolutely let him hit.

I understand that this is considered a ‘kid’s movie’ but even as a 20 year old, I have so much deep respect for well-done animation, and the fact that a kid’s movie managed to include such an intense portrayal of mortality and the inevitability of death without compromising its light-heartedness too much is truly a testament to the masterful work done to create this film.

This portrayal of 'Death' is the best character development I have ever seen. It's also captivating how 'Death' confronts Puss in Boots, revealing his indifference to the value of his life and his resolve to take it himself.

I liked this movie a lot, but I felt it got a bit too noisy towards the end with too many villains and secondary characters. I Really didn't give a crap about Jack Horner or Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I think they managed to bring it back towards the end, but my god, I wish they had focused more on just these two.

I couldn't help but notice the subtitles (or captions, if that's what you call it) and the way they had the grammar in what Death says. "Lives flashing before your eyes?" Not as in that singular life. But each life Puss has had. Foreshadowing

Two things about Death: 1) He is not a villain, he does not do this as he wills, but rather as a duty, a task, of life and death. 2) The villain is actually Big Jack Horner.

I got into that movie thinking "Haha it's gonna be like Shrek, fun and light hearted" then I saw a character (a main one that is) bleed and I knew sh*t got real, real quick...

I love the fact that they were willing to show a drop of blood in the first fight. I understand it's a kids movie and we shouldn't show children gore, but that is a tasteful way to show it and doesn't pander to the audience. That's a hard line to balance.

People keep saying Death was doing his job. No, no he is no ethereal force doing his job. Death actively hunting and tormenting Puss in an effort to take his last life. He’s the villain. Death is cheating, just as Puss had 8 lives ago

Why are you guys afraid to say you like a villain? Death has a code and he lets Puss live in the end, but he wasn't some misunderstood force trying to teach him a lesson- he's breaking the rules and trying to kill Puss before his time out of a twisted sense of poetic justice. He makes it VERY clear in his dialogue, both English and Spanish, that he had full intentions to follow through on his plan. It wasn't until Puss challenged his reason for breaking the rules by being willing to fight for his last life and give it meaning that death begrudgingly conceded. He even gives him one last line as a reminder that he will return, just to make sure Puss wasn't being motivated by fear(ok that last bit is technically head canon, but it sure seems like it was a test) So i ask again- why are you guys afraid to say you like a villain? You don't have to try and justify Death as a noble anti-hero in order to like him as a character or what he brings to the table in this movie. He's not just an antagonist, but an actual villain. In this case he just happens to be a villain with his own moral code and sense of twisted justice
